Krups' masterpiece machine provides programability with an easy-to-read LCD display screen for setup, beverage selection and options (i.e. coffee strength, size and type). A compact thermoblock integrates pressure, heating and brewing into a single, seamless function, while the monoblock's patented brewing chamber is engineered for excellent heat transfer. The Espresseria also features a single thermostat that will deliver constant heat with every cup.

Features & Functionality of the Krups Espresseria
LCD Screen: Easy programming and setup for personalized drinks
Aqua Filter System: Removes minerals from water for better tasting coffee
Automatic cleaning: You won't have to lift a finger, as the Espresseria automatically rinses, cleans and descales your machine when needed
Metallic Burr Grinders: Prevents overheating and preserves the freshness of your beans
Easy to Use - Even novice espresso makers will find Krups' Espresseria, with its LCD display for setup, beverage selection and options, a cinch to use.
Compact - This machine is not as bulky as other Super-Automatics you may find. And even with its petite size, it packs a punch with a thermoblock that provides constant heat.
Frother - While the frother is small, it froths right in your cup and does a surprisingly good job.
Noise Levels - We found this machine to be rather loud when dropping the puck and grinding.
Programmability - You won't find a high level of programmability with this machine.
Small Puck Tray - The smaller nature of the Espresseria's puck tray means you'll need to empty it more often.

How Does it Compare?
While it doesn't have nearly as much programmability as other Super-Automatics, we found that the price makes up for what it lacks.
will this machine work if the drip tray is out? I always make tall cups. 4 1/2 inches is sooooo short. Also, it says in the specs that the theromblock is aluminum. Most other brands specify stainless lined to eliminate taste from H2O. Any comments about that.
Best Answer:Unfortunately superautomatic machines like this Krups will not work when the drip tray is not in place, as the machine has a sensor the drip tray engages. The unit actually needs that drip tray to catch excess water inside the machine during brewing, and if it were out, you would end up with water on your counter. There have not been any flavors I have noticed from this or any of the other machines we offer with an aluminum thermoblock. For a machine will a taller cup clearance, check out the Saeco Talea Giro:
The largest cup that you can choose to make is 6 oz. pulled through the same grounds. If you choose to make two coffees, then it will grind and brew, then repeat right away, giving you up to 12 oz. of coffee!
The replacement water filter is spendy at the $15.00 a moth replacement recommendation. Can one use water from the Brita water filter system? Hate to pay $15 /month for this machine. Thanks for anyone's help.

Best Answer:No, only the Krups filter will fit. However, there's no requirement to use a water filter at all... the machine will work just fine without it. After several hundred cups it will ask you to run a cleaning cycle, which required a Krups cleaning tablet, but they're cheap (and the first two tablet are shipped with the machine). I've cleaned my machine once so far, and while it's a bit time-consuming it's not difficult.
If you're concerned about the water quality for health or taste purposes, use water from a filtered water pitched (like a Brita) or install a water filter on your kitchen faucet.
Best Answer:Because we don't sell the 8260 I can't say for certain, but looking at the two of these Krups machines online, it looks as though the only difference is color, and the 8250 is a black plastic machine while the 8260 is a Die Case stainless machine. You may want to contact Krups directly to find out at 800-526-5377. Hope this helps!

Caring for the Krups Espresseria
Descale every two to three months. We recommend using Dezcal.
Soap out water tank and drip trays every few days.
Clean and rinse the milk pitcher in soapy water between fillings.
Remove the brew group and spray it down with hot water (no soap!) about once per week.
Wipe the brushed stainless casing with a damp rag or sponge. Casing can be cleaned periodically with stainless steel cleaner/polish.
Excellent in every wayReview by Zack
The most delicious cup of coffee, super easy to use and the price is right. (Posted on 8/16/2014)
Very compact but large water tankReview by Benjamin
It's our first super automatic. We've graduated from the Illy, Caffitaly, Nespresso, and Starbucks capsule systems and won't look back. Very easy to use and clean up is a breeze. It may be all plastic, but it looks sharp compared to other plastic super automatics. (Posted on 7/28/2014)
