La Cafetiere's Thermique Cafetiere is a French press that is both useful yet sophisticated in style. A double-walled stainless steel body and lid, it will keep coffee hot three times longer than any other conventional Cafetiere. The Thermique Cafetiere is available in convenient 3 and 8 cup sizes.
A Note About Coffee & Cups
Let us break it down for you: Although 8 ounces equals a cup in the baking world, a US cup of coffee is measured at 6 ounces and a European cup of coffee is measured at 4.25 ounces. This is why we sometimes list ounces to paint a more accurate picture of capacity.
Pick Your Size - This isn't a one size fits all type of deal, whether you're serving a party or just need a cup for one, this La Cafetiere comes in two sizes, 3 and 8 cup, that'll match whatever your occasion.
Double Your Pleasure - Complete with a double wall feature, you can guarantee that your hot drinks will maintain it's maximum heat for a longer period of time.
Not So Squeaky Clean - When it comes to the metal coiled filters, they work like magic but are a little harder to clean. Make sure to get deep down in there to wipe up all those pesky grounds that can get in between those cracks and crevasses.
Fingerprints - Unfortunately, with this press' shiny chrome exterior there comes the fallback of unwanted fingerprints you can't avoid.

One of a kind! And the double walls keeps coffee hotter longer.
Tips and Tricks
To prevent cleaning up a mess, use more of a precise grind to avoid coffee grounds and silt at the bottom of your cup and in your filter.
This press is great !!! Does anyone know where I can find a replacement wire mesh strainer for this coffee press,? as the edges are fraying and coffee grinds mix in with the coffee! A new one would be so nice! :) thank you for any positive input
Best Answer:Hi Debra, I did see one online but I am not allowed to insert the link here. It was on the LaCafetiere website. However it comes with the upper and lower parts. It also ships from Europe and may have a pricey shipping charge. That is assuming you live in the states. I just checked an old Bodum mesh and it didn't fit due to a washer in the center that is too small to fit the one you and I own. That washer possibly could be cut out with a heavy razor blade. The outer diameter is the correct size. That one I saw on Amazon. If and when mine degrades, that is what I would try first. If that didn't work, I would look for stainless steel fine mesh and cut my own. That though depends on the price, if I could find a small amount of it and if the mesh was fine enough. I'm not sure how I would handle the edge. I guess I would cut it larger and try folding it over with a needle-nose pliers. I have no idea if that would even work. I love this press too. I always assumed there would be replacement meshes available. I will try my Bodum mesh solution soon so that I have a backup ready if it works!
What I should have bought years agoReview by Siwinda
After years of the glass carafe type presses (which I tend to break) and the plastic type that tend to crack and leak, I took the plunge and bought two of these 12oz size presses. They are twice as much as the others in price but I don't see how these could ever become defective. The screen appears to be the standard size and therefore is replaceable if it wears out. I could not find photos of the interior and was sceptical since it appears on the outside to taper narrow from bottom to top, however the interior is a straight cyliner. That must be part of the thermal design which works well and keeps the liquid hot. The 12 oz size is to the very top of the carafe, therefore it is best for brewing one 8 oz, possibly 10 oz cup of coffe or tea. The lid is also solid and designed to be thermal, it has an opening that you turn toward the spout when you are ready to pour. I would purchase these again in a heartbeat but don't think I'll ever need to. (Posted on 4/29/2014)
Great French PressReview by Luke
This french press is very well made, cleans easier the my old glass one, and keep the coffee hot much longer. I returned the smaller size one because it seemed better for a single person. The 8 cup one is great for my wife and I. Couldn't be more pleased! (Posted on 10/6/2012)
The neatest little French Press...Review by MollieJo
I bought the 3 cup version. I LOVE this....the only trouble is...in what "universe" is this a 3 cup french press? I don't do those "dainty" little demitasse cups. It fills my coffee mug (10 oz) just perfectly.... The description doesn't tell you it is 12oz but it does on the box it comes in.
Very elegant! And looks great just on the counter in the kitchen. Now, I have to order the large version so my hubby will quit whining! (Posted on 9/27/2012)
LOVE,LOVE.LOVE This coffee press.Review by Sail-a-veeve
Best press i;ve ever had. it keeps hot coffe hotter longer and iced drinks colder than i've ever been able to keep them before . its a breeze to care for and never dribbles like most all other pots. And the biggest plus for me, a die hard clutz is that it is practically indestruckable (unless u knock it overboard off the sailboat) That's why I'm buying a new one
Quiet, Quick Brewing, Always shiny and bright, Easy To Use, Great Taste, Stays HotHotHot, No grounds for divorce, Pours Flawlessly, Clutz Proof, Easy To Clean, Keeps iced coffee icy too, Commercial Grade, Large Water Container
People keep stealing mine (Posted on 12/10/2011)
