Inspired by the elegant designs of Antonio Stradivari's violins, La Pavoni carefully crafted this sturdy Stradivari Manual Espresso Machine in a bright chrome casing. The ESC-8 edition features a classic construction and complete manual control over your brew, giving you the chance to brew the ultimate espresso shot. But a word to the wise: Just like those iconic Stradivari violins, this manual espresso maker takes time to perfect your technique and fully master.

Features & Functionality of the La Pavoni Stradivari Works

  • 20 ounce Boiler: Pull up to 8 two ounce shots of espresso.
  • Dual Frothing System: Use the manual wand or automatic frothing adapter to steam your milk.
  • Recessed Switches: Both the power switch and button are recessed for a streamlined look.
  • Triple Chrome Plated: Heavy duty chrome plating makes for beautiful, functional design.
  • Solid Brass Boiler: The nickel-plated solid brass boiler provides improved temperature regulation.
  • Exceptional Espresso - You'll love the shots you pull from this machine possibly more than you have loved any other.
  • Large Brew Group - Compared to other La Pavoni manual espresso machines, the Stradivari has a larger brew group, which has solved some of the temperature quirks of previous models.
  • Heavier Components - The Stradivari is a weightier espresso machine than other models, so while it still has a tendency to move a bit during extraction, it is heavier and remains more stable than other models.
  • Learning Curve - You're going to have a few up close and personal dates with your Stradivari before you can really get to know it. But once you've figured out how to pull shots from this machine, you'll wonder why you ever dabbled with any other espresso machine before.
  • Requires Burr Grinder - Consistency in coffee grinds requires that you invest in a high-end burr grinder in order to successfully extract great shots with Stradivari.
  • Second Shot's the Charm - It's often said that the first shot on manual espresso machines are not that great. Therefore, you'll probably end up throwing out your first shot of the day.

I'm interested - does anyone know what size (mm) the group is? And also, is the group sleeved? If so, what material?

Thanks in advance! John

I purchased this machine on Amazon and am interested in upgrading the portafilter to a naked/bottomless. Anyone know what size and any recommended brands?
RyRy C on Mar 6, 2015
Best Answer: The portafilter can vary depending on when the machine was manufactured. The older versions use a 49mm portafilter, whereas the Millennium version (2000 and later) use a 51mm portafilter. Additionally, different series of the La Pavonis will be a different size too, like the Professional series, or Europiccola series. We don't currently carry any replacement portafilters, so I'm not sure where to refer you to!

I have a rocky rancillio grinder. Is this going to be sufficient for this espresso machine or should I look to upgrade my grinder before investing in a manual?
Jonathan on Jul 1, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, as long as the burrs are still in good shape and can grind nice and fine, the Rancilio Rocky grinder will do a great job with the La Pavoni machines.

what size mm tamp is best for this machine?
richard d on Aug 10, 2013
Best Answer: The Pavoni machines such as this Stradivari manufactured after 1999 use a 51mm tamper. If you have an older machine with a manufacture date pre-1999, you would need a 49mm tamper.
