Features & Functionality of the La Pavoni Stradivari Works

  • Professional-Grade Boiler: With a 38 ounce capacity, you can make up to 16 two ounce shots of espresso in a row.
  • Solid Rosewood Handles: Rosewood handles give this espresso machine an heirloom-quality look with a functional design.
  • Dual Frothing System: Use the manual wand or automatic frothing adapter to steam your milk.
  • Triple Chrome Plated: Heavy duty chrome plating makes for beautiful, functional design.
  • Solid Brass Boiler: The nickel-plated solid brass boiler provides improved temperature regulation.
  • Quality Shots - You'll be pulling the best shots you've ever tasted from this espresso machine and will have the opportunity to truly perfect each aspect of espresso extraction.
  • Large Brew Group - Compared to other La Pavoni manual espresso machines, this one has a larger brew group, which has solved some of the temperature quirks of previous models.
  • Beautiful Design - The Stradivari is both elegant and functional, allowing you to pull a large quantity of espresso while maintaining its grand aesthetic appeal. You can go commercial without looking industrial.
  • Learning Curve - You're going to have a few up close and personal dates with your Stradivari before you can really get to know it. But once you've figured out how to pull shots from this machine, you'll wonder why you ever dabbled with any other espresso machine before.
  • Requires Burr Grinder - Consistency in coffee grinds requires that you invest in a high-end burr grinder in order to successfully extract great shots with Stradivari.
  • Light - You'll need to use a fair amount of force during extraction, but the body of this espresso machine isn't quite heavy enough to remain totally stable throughout the process. While it's not dangerous by any means, you do need to keep balance your top priority while you're using this espresso machine.

The specs say that the machine is 12" tall. Is that just the body or does that include the handle when it is in the up position.

If this is just the body height what is the overall height when the handle is in the up position?

Best Answer: I have owned a La Pavoni Piccola for over 20 years. I ordered the Stradivari and returned it, finding the design of the steaming wand and the pressure relief tubing to be awkward. But, to answer your question, I am sure the stated height of the machine is with the handle down. I ended up buying the Alex Duetto II. Expensive, but it is great. And, I found Seattle Coffee Gear very customer friendly when I returned the Stradivari. That is the main reason I stuck with them when ordering the Alex Duetto.

Hope this helps.

What size tamper do you need for the La Pavoni Stradivari 16. I can't find that information anywhere. Is it a secret?

Beautiful and FunctionalReview by Beanconn
Extremely pleased with every facet of this machine. I replaced my 17 year old La Pavoni with the Stradivari. The larger and more massive porta filter is a welcome improvement. Pulling shots with this machine provides the ultimate in control and intimacy. Doesn't hurt that it is gorgeous to look at too.
