Would this work well in a stove top Bialetti moka maker?
Jenni G on Mar 17, 2016
Best Answer: Yes, it will work just fine. Also note that Lavazza provides information on suitability for different ways of preparation. Lavazza Caffe Espresso is marked as ideal for mokka makers and espresso machines and suitable for french press and filtered coffee machines.

Anyone use this grind with the Sylvia espresso machine? I am wondering if any pre ground expresso will work with the machine so I don't have to invest in a grinder. We used to order this can by the box full to use with our Krups machine. Worked wonderfully!

Best Answer: No, you cannot use preground coffee like this Lavazza Caffe Espresso in a machine like the Silvia. The Silvia is a non pressurized portafilter machine that requires a specific fineness of grind, and also very fresh ground coffee. Each machine is different, and so one Silvia may require one type of grind, while another may require something slightly finer or coarser. If you try to use a ground coffee like this in your machine you will get very inconsistent results and not be happy with the extraction or crema. Hope this helps clarify!

Not fine enough for anything but a pressurized portafilter.Review by Max
On the right day you can pull a drinkable (with milk) ~15 second shot on a semiautomatic, but that's it. Skip if you aren't using pressurized.

THE COFFEE: perfectly nice, but gets stale fast (like all packaged coffees). (Posted on 10/18/2013)
