Overview

Up the ante with Nuova Simonelli's Aurelia II 2 Volumetric Commercial Espresso Machine. A certified World Barista Championship Official Espresso Machine, the Aurelia II Volumetric 2 Group is great for producing quality espresso drinks in high traffic settings. To help keep up with the demands of high volume coffee shops and restaurants, the Aurelia II Volumetric features automatic backflushing, soft infusion for more consistent shots, and ergonomic certification by the European Institute of Ergonomics and Psychology as a safeguard to both the wellness and health of users.

Features and Functionality

  • Heat Exchanger: With it's copper boiler, this heat exchanger will allow you to brew and steam at the same time with ease and at a faster rate than non-heat exchangers. The temperature will stay consistent through and through from boiler to brew head giving you that ideal shot every time.
  • Soft Infusion System: Guarantees soft and creamy espresso shots every time.
  • Optional Smart Wand: Allows anyone to make thick and velvety milk-based drinks, always at the same temperature with the proper amount of foam. Select two regular steam arms, or one regular and one Auto Steam arm.
  • Raised Group Heads: Tall enough to put your cup right underneath the group.
  • Loved by Baristas : The Aurelia II introduces four new features your baristas are going to love.
  • The Reverse Mirror: Allows the barista to see the shot pour out without having to bend down under the group head
  • Cool Touch Steam Wands: No more burnt arms, hands, or egos. Also due to the lack of heat, say goodbye to the milk encrustation you see on every other machine.
  • Milk Light: An LED light that points down into the frothing pitcher.
  • LED Lights: Soft LED lights illuminate the front of the machine.

Should I turn off my machine at night?
A shopper on Nov 17, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, leaving it on throughout the night puts extra wear and tear on the machine that is not necessary, so it is recommended to turn it off at the end of the day.

Does this make regular American coffee also?
A shopper on Feb 19, 2015
Best Answer: No, it cannot make drip coffee, it will make espresso and variations of espresso. The closest to a drip cup of coffee, or what we think of as American coffee, will be a lungo (double the volume of an espresso but pulled within the same timeframe of 20-30 seconds), or an americano (espresso plus hot water) that will weaken the strength of espresso, providing more of a volume of coffee. This machine can make both a lungo and an americano, which is as close as you can get with a machine like this, since it has a pump that's pushing water (not dripping it over grounds), and uses a finer setting for espresso.

How much electricity does a Simonelli Aurella 2 use? Reason for question is to determine if the energy saving features of the Digit pay for the price difference between the Digit and the strait Volumetric
cynthia h on Jan 24, 2015
Best Answer: If the machine is heating up from a cold temperature, or if you're using both group heads and steaming, the maximum wattage that the machine will use is 4500 watts. This probably won't make much of a difference as far as how much energy is used, whether it goes into energy efficiency mode or if you power it off and then it has to heat up from cold in the morning, you would probably use about the same amount. However, depending on your area, there are some areas where the utility company will offer off-peak hour rates, which would help you if you're using the machine with an energy saving mode where it will keep the water warm but not all the way up at brew temp.

Another consideration will be the long term repair/service that you may need for the machine. By keeping the machine steady and just having the machine heat in little bits, you may see a longer lifespan or fewer problems down the road than turning off the machine each night, then restarting the machine and having it heat full blast every morning, which will wear on the components slightly more.
