Features & Functionality of the Nuova Simonelli MDX Grinder
High Capacity: The MDX can handle both the most demanding of households as well as cafes and coffee shops with high production and consistency you'd expect from a grinder of this caliber.
Stepless: Infinite espresso settings mean finding the perfect shot quickly becomes a reality as the MDX allows you to truly fine-tune your grind.
Consistent: Large 64mm burrs on the MDX remove any doubts about consistency, ensuring you only the best of drinks come out of your machine.
Reliable: With a sturdy stainless steel body, the MDX seems to be in this thing for the long haul.
Large Hopper: Definitely big enough that you won't need to be filling beans every day. However we do recommend keeping your whole beans stored air tight, or as close to air tight as possible, to ensure maximum freshness.
High Capacity - The MDX is built to produce. It features a large hopper and a low RPM motor so you don't have to worry about running out of grinds during the busy morning rush.
Stepless - Find the perfect grind setting with the stepless adjustment knob, which allows you to dial in to precisely the setting you want.
Durable - The MDX not only looks sturdy, it is super durable and built to last.
Messy - We find that even with the doser, grinds find a way to end up all around the base of the grinder, but this is standard in most grinders.
Heavy - Once this grinder is in place, you probably aren't going to want to move it around much.

Best Answer:I'm not entirely sure what your question is here. This grinder is a doser. When you turn on the grinder, it will grind into the dosing chamber for as long as you have the power engaged. Turning off the grinder will stop it from grinding. A doser will generally be used in a higher capacity environment, where it will grind to fill the dosing chamber, and then you'll pull the lever on the side to dispense the pie-shaped, predetermined amounts of coffee into your portafilter. This grinder does not sense or re-engage when the grounds volume falls too low, you would be starting the grinder by turning on the power button. Hope this helps!
Best Answer:We recommend running the grinder as you change the grind setting from coarse to fine on any burr grinder, this Nuova Simonelli MDX included. This allows grounds to push through the two burrs rather than the unit clamping down on them as you adjust finer.
Commercial class espresso machines have several different service plans available from which you may select during order placement. Self installation may void your commercial warranty. Please speak with your commercial sales rep for details on coverage duration, service level and individual policies.
