The Moka models includes either a doser or doserless functionality. The doser allows the barista to pull a lever and easily portion the right amount of grounds into the portafilter from the completed cycle. With 25 push-button grind options, ease is the name of the Moka Grinder's game. Features & Functionality of the Pasquini Moka Grinder

  • Quality Construction: The powerful motor of the Moka grinder ensures the consistent grinding results required for high quality espresso machines. Thanks to the powerful direct drive motor, the grind wheels turn slowly, but powerfully, so the Moka will not burn the coffee grounds nor clog at finer settings. The polished chrome body is not only attractive enough to be left on any counter top, but scratch resistant and built to last.
  • Tempered Steel Burr Grinding Wheels: Made of tempered steel, the 50mm wide burr grinding wheels of the Moka grinder produces superior uniformity in coffee grounds. These grinding wheels out perform any other coffee grinder in its class due to their superior strength and they will give you years of excellent performance. A consistent grind is key in the production of a superior espresso with rich flavor and aroma. The Moka can produce the exact coffee ground refinements required by the more sophisticated espresso machines.
  • Coffee Dosing System (with the Doser version): The Moka's coffee dosing system is perfect for high use situations like you see in the commercial coffee bars. With a pull of the dosing lever, the correct amount of ground coffee is dispensed directly into the filter. Other ground coffee is stored in a dosing unit or catching bin where it is kept fresh and ready to go for the next brewing.
  • 25 Grind Settings: Choose the exact grind you want from the 25 selections offered by the grinder. Adjust for espresso, drip, French press or Turkish coffee.
  • One Pound Coffee Bean Hopper: Made of clear molded plastic with a black lid, the Moka's hopper keeps up to one pound of coffee beans well sealed so they remain fresh and ready to grind.
  • Steel Wheels - The tempered steel grinding wheels are extremely durable and capable of grinding Turkish, French Press and all points in between.
  • Large Hopper - Spend less time refilling your hopper. This one holds one pound of coffee beans.
  • Attractive Housing - The gorgeous polished chrome body fits well into any kitchen setting.

Can anyone chime in on how this grinder performs with machines in the rocket category?

Aaron C on Sep 7, 2013
Best Answer: I am using it with a Pasquini liva espresso machine. I have been on the quest to make perfect espresso's created at home. I had the machine and I used coffee ground at an espresso bar. I had so so results. I got the Pasquini Moke, put in some beans, ground them to the setting it came with and proceeded to make perfect espresso. I am very impressed with the machine, it works perfectly and has a reasonable price tag.

Can the hopper be removed? I use a different coffees for espresso and french press and would like to avoid emptying the hopper to put in different beans depending upon what I want to drink in the morning.
A shopper on Jan 30, 2015
Best Answer: No, the only time that you would remove the hopper is when you needed to access and clean the burrs of the grinder. To switch between different beans, you would just overturn the grinder to dump out the beans in the hopper into a container, then refill with he new beans. Just remember that when you switch, you'll want to be sure to grind about a portafilter's worth of grounds through so that you clear through the mixture of the old and new beans and discard them! Otherwise, you could just put in what you need, but you'll still have to clear between different beans, and between different grind settings too!

If I buy the grinder with the doser, can I remove it to make it doserless?
A shopper on Aug 31, 2014
Best Answer: No, unfortunately there is not a way that I am aware of to modify your Pasquini Moka grinder from a doser to a doserless.

how do I remove the hopper that dispense grinds? There seems to be a pin keeping the bottom hoper in place
A shopper on May 26, 2014
Best Answer: It's not too sophisticated, all you do is lift up. the pin only locks the step adjustment. Unfortunately there is no gate to close the bin so it needs to be empty of beans!
There is actually a youtube disassembly video (by a SCG competitor-- but I still love theirs too).

This machine makes senseReview by Rick
I discovered this machine through a tech review blog. Since I had just purchased its baby cousin for home use, I thought I should stay with the company. I'm thrilled with the quality as well as the price. Bravo!!! (Posted on 9/25/2014)
Oh, now I understandReview by Champurrado
While you might be initially overwhelmed by the price tag, this grinder will make a huge improvement in the quality of your espresso - especially if you are now using a cheaper grinder. We had the Breville conical burr grinder before this and it never seemed to grind properly for espresso.

The Moka, however, produced a perfect grind right out of the box for our espresso machine. I understand that some people have to dial in the proper setting after some trial and error. I guessed the setting and just got lucky. In any event, I ponied up some money for the grinder and now I no longer feel I have to replace my old espresso machine.

Easy to use, keeps the beans fresh in the hopper and produces consistently fine grind day after day.

It's a bit steep in price but I do not regret the purchase. (Posted on 7/30/2012)
Pasquini DeliversReview by Hector
Deciding how much you want to spend on an item is a good place to start and then honing in on the product that best fits your overall needs . I chose the Pasquini K-2 Doserless after performing extensive web searches to find out all I could concerning grinders in the $450.00 to $600.00 price range . If you are searching for a grinder that delivers and will last for many years to come - the Pasquini Moka Doserless is a great choice for under $600.00 .
