High quality materials and excellent craftsmanship are the hallmark of all Reg Barber espresso tampers. Carefully handcrafted in his British Columbia workshop, each tamper is beautifully made and will be an excellent addition to your espresso equipment collection.
**Please Note: Base and handle must be purchased separately and both must be selected above to purchase a full tamper.**
One of the most popular Reg Barber tampers, the polished tall wood espresso tamper is a durable and lovely tool to help you tamp your way to excellent espresso!
Light - This espresso tamper is light, giving it good balance
Natural Wear - Naturally, the polish wears off over time, unlike some of the other handle choices

How Does it Compare?
The tall polished wood espresso tamper handle may be more comfortable for larger hands and has more material options than what is available for the short wood espresso tamper handle.
Why is only the 58mm ripple the only option when you can buy a 58mm flat separately? are these already pre-paired in packaging? If so when will you get any 58mm flats or anything not grooved up in any of the short RB styles?

Best Answer:We sell the bases and handles separately. We do not offer the entire selection the Reg Barber has. You can try Reg Barber's website directly to find what you are looking for. www.coffeetamper.com
Best Answer:Unfortunately, since we don't carry the EC680, I can't say what size you would need. You can measure the inside diameter of your filter basket, and that will tell you what size you need for a tamper.
There isn't any functional difference between the ball and tall handles, they are the same height, just a different appearance. The tall will be the standard shape, and the ball handle will have the more rounded top overall. As you choose the handle type and then color, it will display the one that you've chosen.
Wood handles on the tampers are not labeled. Which wood is represented by the darker wood which is shown in the center position of the tall tampers?

Best Answer:For these Reg Barber tampers, the Maple is the lightest color, and Bubinga is the rose colored wood (Bubinga is shown in this photo of five tampers in both ball and tall styles to the right). The Ball and Tall handle styles are offered in both of these colors. The Tall is also offered in Zebra, the medium colored hue with darker striping, and Wenge, the darkest of the brown colors, which is the bottom center handle in the tall style you are inquiring about. Keep in mind since these are all natural wood, slight variations in the color may occur. Once you select a handle style and color (and only those that are in stock will be available in the drop down menu), the photo will change to reflect your choice. Hope this helps clarify!
But very well made. I am happy with the tamp as the build quality is excellent. It does seem kind of expensive for some machined metal and wood though. (Posted on 1/6/2013)

Great espresso for my morning latte is a must. This tamper helps make the experience perfect for me. It feels good to the touch and works so well with my machine that the espresso comes out rich and full-bodied every time.
Feels good in hand, Heavy steell, Beautiful wood handle
