A bit reminiscent of a pepper grinder (when we first saw this grinder, we immediately started singing Salt n' Pepa songs in our head), the Rhinowares Hand Coffee Grinder is manual grinding at its classiest. The stainless steel housing gives it an attractive and shiny appearance while allowing for easy cleaning, ceramic conical burrs provide a wide range of grinds and the detachable handle - along with carrying bag - make it a great on-the-go option. ♪ Oh baby, baby... ♪
Non-Electric - You can take this grinder on road trips, boat trips, space trips...or even just use it as your daily grinder!
Shiny and Bright - The stainless steel housing makes this one attractive hand grinder.
Muscle Time - It does take effort to hand grind your beans, which some people may find to be either time consuming or taxing on those muscles.
I bought a manuel grinder that looks similar to this one from amazon. I am sending it back because it broke on the second use. It had a plastic piece inside of the ceramic bur that allowed the teeth from the shaft to turn the ceramic bur. The plastic piece stripped and would not turn the bur. I was bumbed. Does this have the same plastic piece inside of the ceramic bur? It looked like it did in the crew review video.
I would not suggest buying this item. True, the grinder looks great and the motion is very easy. Unfortunately, the top burr is not held in place very well and easily pops out of it's plastic holdings and moves with the motion of the bottom burr. The ceramic of the top burr then grinds down on the plastic that should be holding it in place and stops grinding the coffee.
After less than a month of use I have to adjust the burr at least twice mid-grind each use. The plastic holdings that fit into the top burr's dimples are almost fully ground down after only a month of use. Again, it looks great but doesn't work well. (Posted on 4/10/2016)
