The Rocket Stainless Steel Knock Box is one of the sturdiest knock boxes we have seen, not to mention how good the stainless steel looks next to your machine. Would you expect anything less from Rocket Espresso?
Large Capacity - You'll be knocking out pucks in this knock box like there's no tomorrow. With a large capacity you'll be buzzing after all the shots you'll be making.
Built To Last - Made of stainless steel you won't have to worry about knocking this knock box around.
No Replacements - Unfortunately you won't find any replacements for this knock boxes rubber bar.
How Does it Compare?
Even with its large capacity you won't find this knock box taking up too big of a footprint with its upright position.
Best Answer:The inside width at the knock-bar is 4.25 inches. I was concerned prior to purchasing that the unit looked small but I've been using this item for quite some time and would highly recommend it. The rear side is slightly higher than the front to prevent splashing. It's a quality made unit that looks great and has a small footprint.
Mine measures precisely 4 1/16 inches inner diameter across the knock bar. When assembled it has a slightly oval and not unpleasing shape measuring 4 1/2 inches at the widest point. Never regretted getting this device, love it and highly recommend it.
Thanks!! This won't work for me. My portafilter is the 58mm version which puts its OD over 3 inches. I currently have the Grindenstein knock box which is roughly the same size and I get grounds all over my counter if the puck doesn't hold together so I'm looking for something bigger than what I have,
I am sorry this Rocket Knock Box won't work for you! If you're looking for a wider knock box, the Breville Knock Box is about 5 3/4 inches across. We also like the Modern Stainless Knock Box as an alternative, and though it is only about 4 1/4 inches across, it has higher sides than the others so mess is pretty well contained. I have included a few links below so you can check these two out!
I had a square knock box previously with thinner metal. This is very well made and the width at the knock bar is 4". It is easily cleaned. If I were to need to buy a knock box again, I would buy the rocket! (Posted on 11/28/2014)
Average ProductReview by calpauly
This is somewhat small and as a result some of the grounds don't find there way inside of it and land on your countertop. Also, the rubber pad on the bottom ony covers a portion of the bottom, so if you don't quite center the portafilter on the knock bar the metal sides on the bottom of the knock box slam into your countertop. I ended up returning the unit for these reasons. This knock box is quite attractive and durable, but I think the designers at Rocket should make it a bit larger and allow the rubber pad to cover the entire bottom. If so, I would have given it five stars. (Posted on 8/30/2013)
Nice looking, very heavy commercial weight and style.Review by Jack
At the time I purchased it on-line, I thought it seemed a little pricy, but when it arrived I realized how heavily it was constructed. It will never need to be replaced. The only reason to buy another one would be as a lasting gift for a friend. (Posted on 3/9/2013)

Wonderful knock box, heavy, sturdy, easy to clean, and good looking...expensive, but will last a lifetime...a good value.

A Great Accessory!Review by Gerry the Espresso Nut
I couldn't resist the great design at such a great price. I'm even more impressed with the way it works.
It's hard to tell from the photo, but the rear of the box is a good inch and a half taller than the front, thus no flying grounds to wipe up after the knock.
There is a sturdy rubber base that acts as a shock absorber and allows a firm rap of the portafilter to knock out the puck.
Easy to dump and easy to clean. The side knobs unscrew to allow removal of the bar for detailed cleaning when needed.
And, it looks great on my kitchen barista counter.
