Will this ports filter fit my estro 410?
Mike S on Dec 28, 2013
Best Answer: I doubt they are the same. The Saeco "Starbucks Barista", "Rio Vapore", and "Via Venezia" all use the same (pressurized) 53mm portafilters and most other parts. A later portafilter used a prettier curved handle rather than the previous straight one, but they are otherwise identical. I have seen an unpressurized portafilter for these machines, but I'll stick with pressurized since it works for me.

If you can find someone with a Saeco, borrow or compare with your old portafilter (if it exists). You need to know if the Estro 410 uses a pressurized portafilter. Nowhere in my manual does it specify what my Saeco uses. You also need to measure the distance from the upper rim to the flanges on the side as well as the thickness of the flange to see if it fits. It is a lot easier to just borrow a Saeco and try it out.

I can provide the Saeco measurements if you like.

Does the 53mm fit the Sacco vapore sin 006?

Best Answer: Sorry, don't have that model. Fits my Estro Vapore. Starbucks eventually renamed this as their own.

Hi--will this fit our old Estro Profi (some websites call it a Combi, as it has built-in beans grinder)? Thanks. I take it we need to buy additional basket to get a double-shot espresso? And when will you have it back in stock?
Eli B on Apr 6, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, the Saeco Aroma pressurized portafilter will fit the Estro Profi machine. The portafilter comes with a double basket but if you would like to purchase extra we do offer them on our site. Unfortunately, we are out of stock currently on both portafilters and machines but are expecting to have them back in stock at the end of this week. If you need those parts before then, you can check out encompassparts.com.

Will this portafilter (Saeco Aroma Pressurized Portafilter - 53mm) fit a Jura Rio Profi machine? Jura Rio Profi and Saeco Rio Profi appear to be identical machines (possibly branded differently for US & European markets) - and I desperately need a new portafilter for my machine. Thanks James
A shopper on Nov 9, 2013
Best Answer: My machine was an Estro Vapore, later branded by Starbucks as the Barista. I have no knowledge of the machines you mention, I'd call the staff at Seattle Coffee Gear for your answer..

What size tamper should you use? 53mm or slightly smaller at 52mm?

The pressurized portafilter on my Saeco Aroma seems to get "stuck" at times. It will work fine for a while then on other occasions, no coffee will come out at all. When this happens, I let the portafilter soak in hot soapy water for about 20 mins. and it will work fine again for a while. This is so annoying because I never know when it will work and when it will not. I also tried grounding the coffee not as fine, and this seems to work, but again, not always. Is there a "portafilter repair" kit for this kind of problem or do I need a new portafilter ? If I do need a new one, would it be better to go with the non-pressurized model ? Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide on this issue.
Paul D on Aug 9, 2015
Best Answer: There is no type of repair kit for a portafilter. You may want to look into getting a new one. I would absolutely recommend the non-pressurized version. It's an upgrade! You'll be able to tamp your coffee as you choose and you won't have to worry about the spring in the portafilter giving out on you, which may be the issue you are currently experiencing.

Will this fit Saeco Gran, Type Sin 010, Design Savinel & Roze? The machine is 8 years old. Stopped producing crema. Do I have buy new machine?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2015
Best Answer: Yes. Your crema is mostly determined by how fresh your coffee is, this does not mean you need a new machine.

I own a stainless steel Starbucks Barista machine and need to replace the pressurized portafilter. Is this the item I need ?
doug j on Feb 28, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, this one or the Saeco Via Venezia Pressurized Portafilter. They will both fit, the only difference is the handle shape/look.

I recently bought this item from you. We serve a lot of coffee, this is our second portafilter. We alternate using them for efficiency. Right after we purchased this we began having trouble brewing ever other cup. The machine sounds like it is stalling, very little coffee is coming through the portafilter. We coursened our grind a bit to no avail. Is there an adjustment we can make to the portafilter itself?
Fritz on Dec 17, 2014
Best Answer: You can see if it's an issue with the amount of pressure needed before the water will dispense. To do that, put the portafilter on the machine without coffee in it, then brew. If you're properly getting water through the spouts, it's fine, but if it's heavily labored or no water comes through, then you can clip a half of a ring off of the spring inside the portafilter. To do this, remove the 3 screws on the underside of the portafilter, carefully remove the handle, then take the large spring in the center, and clip 1/2 of on rotation of the spring off. If you clip off too much of the spring, it won't build up pressure appropriately. Then reassemble.

Hopefully this helps, but please keep in mind that these machines are not intended to produce more than a normal household, around 5 drinks per day max. If you're trying to use this to serve coffee in a heavier use setting, then you will probably see a much shorter life from the machine.

I have the Saeco Aroma, used it for about 5 years, 1-2 times/day. Should you REPLACE your Portafilter at some point, or do you just keep washing it out or what? I am wondering too if the rubber ring on the filter gets dried out or corroded and doesn't work so well anymore. (FWIW - I have used the Tune-Up kit several times and have used just the Descaler a lot.)
Susan M on Sep 12, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, the pressurized portafilter for your Aroma may need replaced over time, as it can become either clogged with coffee oils or become depressurized if internal parts break. If you notice that you don't get crema like you have in the past or if the coffee struggles to come out then the portafilter may be failing. If the unit is already 5 years old, however, and the portafilter is still doing a fair job, it's hard to recommend replacing it, as it is a fairly expensive part. You may choose to continue to use your Aroma as is and then completely replace the entire machine in a few years. Hope this info helps!

Hi. I have a 2000 Francis Francis X1 that has a missing portafilter basket. I ordered a replacement portafilter set from Illy but it was too big and they no longer carry parts for this size. This model is apparently 53mm, and the new machines are much larger. I ordered a La Speziale (sp?) double filter bc it is also 53mm, but the bottom of my filter basket it tapered, so it doesn't sit all the way down. I am wondering if I can purchase an entire portafilter set as a replacement for a Francis Francis X1, built in 2000. And if I do buy it, can I return it if it doesn't work? And if you possibly know the answer to my problem, will you offer a suggestion?
Jordan9070 on Nov 19, 2013
Best Answer: Unfortunately because portafilters are brand and machine specific, I do not think that this Aroma Portafilter will work for your Francis Francis machine, but I do not have that model here to test. If you do choose to purchase this portafilter to give it a try, then we could return it, provided that it was unused. Do keep in mind that if you return the portafilter because it doesn't fit, you would be responsible for shipping costs. Our return policy is below for reference, and let me know if you have any other questions!

This replaced a worn out and cracked portafilter from my Estro Vapore (Starbucks). With the original, you were able to open and close the filter by moving it left or right once inserted. With the new one it, is permanently open and seems to have its own pressure regulator that "pops" once the requisite pressure is attained. Moving the handle has absolutely no effect on anything. It does work well but this was not detailed in the provided info so if this is something you want be advised. The service from SGC has been great, the price is very competitive (although they are ALL overpriced) and it was delivered a day early. (Posted on 12/18/2013)

I purchased this portafilter instead of buying a new Saeco Aroma to replace my 7 year old machine. This, combined with the descaling solution, is making delicious espresso and perfect crema. Thrilled with it and received great service from SCG. I only wish shipping (which was free for my order) was a little quicker. I waited at least a week-which for espresso fanatics-is a long time!! I've owned 2 Saeco Aromas with this poratfiler in the last 5 years. These filters combined with a good espresso coffee make an espresso that rivals any I've tasted with a great crema! Ordering another for my second machine because I broke the filter after 5 years of use. Helpful hint- buy some of the descaler and use it every couple months to keep the filter basket from clogging up over a 1-2 years of frequent use. Tap water will eventually clog the filter basket. Not a bad design, just happens when you heat water under pressure and push it through the filter basket. You can't beat the price and money you'll save over Starbuck or your local barista...Enjoy!!!

I broke the handle on my Saeco portafilter and found this replacement on the Net. Initially it was back ordered and became available while I was traveling in Europe. My order was held (I guess it was suspicious of fraud, ordered from overseas to the US) but after some explanation it was shipped. It is a perfect replacement and the same heavy weight - while in Europe I found a very flimsy, lightweight portafilter holder and was worried that I will get that model.
