We may not have time traveling Deloreans or Flux Capacitors to transport us into the future, but luckily Saeco brought the future of coffee to us! Ahead of its time, the Exprelia Evo features an updated milk frothing system that creates finer foam and significantly hotter milk than previous models. Lets not forget the pre-programmed buttons, for one of the easiest coffee preparation experiences around. The sleek, modern design will also add a little pizzazz to any kitchen. Dare I say, the Exprelia Evo is fit for a McFly!

Features & Functionality of the Saeco Exprelia Evo - Certified Refurbished

  • Advanced Milk Frothing Carafe: Simply fill the easy-to-use milk carafe and plug into the machine when you are ready for a delicious milk based drink. The top part of the handle swivels to position itself above your cup to dispense hot, frothy milk. When complete, manually swivel back in-line with the rest of the handle for an automatic rinse.
  • Double Duty Wand: If a little more control is your thing, manually froth your milk with the traditional steam wand, that doubles as a hot water dispenser for tea or Americanos.
  • Removable Water Tank: The 54 ounce water tank is removable for easy filling and cleaning.
  • Double Boiler System: The Exprelia Evo is always ready to create a delicious cup with two stainless steel boilers.
  • Aroma System: By pre-infusing (pre-wetting) the grounds, the Saeco Aroma System achieves optimal extraction. This function can also be programmed to suit your taste.
  • Programming Options: From setting the coffee temperature, quantity of coffee ground, size of your cup and amount of milk or water for each drink, the Exprelia Evo offers an array of programming options that can accommodate just about anyone.
  • Keep it Clean: As if the Exprelia Evo doesn’t do enough, this machine also features an automatic cleaning and descaling cycle.
  • True One Touch - With milk carafe inserted, the Exprelia Evo is an impressive one-touch that can create delicious espresso or milk based drinks at the touch of a button.
  • Optional Steam Wand - Unlike other one-touch machines, the Exprelia Evo features a traditional steam wand in addition to the convenient one-touch option.
  • Milk Temperature - In addition to improved milk frothing, the Exprelia Evo produces noticeably hotter milk than other super automatics.
  • Beware of Oily Beans - To avoid a gunky grinder, circumvent oily beans as they tend to cause buildup.
How Does it Compare?

The Saeco Exprelia Evo features higher temperatures and finer foam than the Xelsis, but with less programmability.

Does it make drip coffee as well?
A shopper on Dec 29, 2017
Best Answer: Espresso machine don't "produce" drip coffee. What you can get though, is coffee, as strong as you'd like it, one cup at the time. The amount of water for a large cup of coffee is programmable, as is the grinder's setting and the quantity of beans per cup.
Once you configured the coffee to your liking, save it, and you'll be able to enjoy a great cup of coffee.

I noticed in your review video that it took some time for the milk to dispense. How long does this machine generally take to make milk based drinks?
Mrcoffee on Dec 10, 2016
Best Answer: Hello!
That depends on your set milk volume, but there is definitely a 15-20 second delay while the machine's thermoblock comes to steam temperature.

Hope this helps!

the expresso drinks are fantastic but i'm having issue with the milk based drinks. i feel the cappucino and machiato taste a bit watery like too much steam got in there or something. is there something obvious that i could be doing wrong here.

another separate question is that i find some ground as it spilled over onto the water collector next to the puck holder. i clean the brew unit and the rest of the removable parts at least weekly, sometimes more often. is the small amount of ground spillage expected or is there something that i should do to remedy this? thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Best Answer: Hey Tyler!

I've noticed that Saeco carafes tend to collect condensed water much like a standard steam wand would. Have you tried starting the cappuccino process and putting a cup under the spouts after that first rush of water is cleared from the carafe?

As for your loose grounds concern, that is a fairly normal occurrence. Try turning down your bean strength and see if that reduces the amount of grounds that you find in the drip tray.

Hope that helps!

Best Answer: Sorry, the Exprelia Evo does not currently have any options for in-home plumbing.

Great coffee makerReview by Keith
Ordered the black and stainless steel unit. Unit arrived looking brand new. Only thing noted was the coffee grounds all over the inside of the brewing compartment from testing the unit I hope. Unit has worked great so far. Fast to warm up out of standby mode. One thing to note is the spec stated auto on. There is no auto on with this unit. That being said the unit goes from standby to making a cup in 2 minutes. The milk products are great with this unit. Hold the power button for a few seconds to wake the unit up. Place the carafe in place. Place cup under spout after rinsing complete by machine. Swing milk arm into place and press one button for a great cup. Temp of coffee set on medium will burn your mouth right after finished. Very happy with purchase. I also purchased 2 years of warranty so will see how that goes if the machine needs any warranty work.
I would purchase a certified refurbished unit again. (Posted on 8/3/2017)
Best quality machine that I've ever owned. Hands down.Review by Cup of Madness
Arrived well packed and refurbished and in excellent condition. Only one minor physical flaw, which was one of the circles on the SBS dial was almost worn off. I can live with it.
Steamed mild temp could be hotter, but when stirred into the after espresso shot final product, the drinking temp is perfect.
Great amount of dense foam created.
Awesome crema production, consistently.
Easy to clean drip tray and brewing unit.
Monthly cleanings are also not too time consuming.

Excellent Value Great CoffeeReview by BOGORDOUG
I ordered this machine nearly 2 months ago. I have had zero problems with the machine. It makes excellent expressos and milk products.

Only one issue. The machine calls for emptying the dregs box fairly frequently.

The max number of pucks appears to be 6. When using milk products, you must empty it more frequently due to excess water building up. I am now in the habit of doing it after every two milk products. But otherwise no particular problems.

The milk carafe is someone picky to install. I have found I need to empty and wash the carafe at least every 3-4 days. Otherwise, the milk begins to sour. I refrigerate after every milk product. I am the only users of the machine so a full carafe lasts several days.

This was a certified refurbished machine. Other than the packing I could not tell. No flaws or scratches are evident. Packing was excellent. Ground shipping was from the west coast and arrived in 4 days.

I would purchase again. (Posted on 12/21/2016)
