Does this machine only make espresso? Or coffee too?
What kind of beans do I use?
Tamar on Feb 21, 2015
Best Answer: This machine will use a fine grind for espresso. Since the pump will push water through the grounds, you will be making espresso. However, if you would like to pull extra water through the grounds, to make more of a lungo, you can. Likewise, if you prefer to pull shots of espresso and then add hot water through the steam wand, you can do that too. Both of these approaches will provide you with as close to a cup of drip coffee as you can get without having a separate machine. For a lot of people, it is close enough!

As with any other superautomatic, you do not want to use a dark roast or an oily bean. This will clog up the grinder very quickly, so if you prefer oilier beans/roasts, this may not be the right machine for you. However, if you use a medium roast, this will keep your machine happy and healthy, not to mention pass along more of the coffee's particular notes than a darker roast tends to. :-)

We understand the Odea Go comes with a 6 month warranty, but what does that cover? Is it "bumper to bumper" and if it is, the extended warranty options are they the same?
A shopper on Dec 7, 2014
Best Answer: The warranty and extended warranty policy is provided here: https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/service/scg-warranty-details Essentially, the warranty, be it the one 6 months that comes with a refurbished machine or the extended warranty, covers if a component should fail internally to the machine. It does not cover normal wear and tear items like o-rings and gaskets, and does not cover external parts such as a panarello, water tank, or drip tray, etc. It also does not cover issues that arise from misuse of the machine such as using a dark roast/oily bean in the grinder that clogs the machine, or scale clogs from not descaling. The process for a warranty repair includes the parts and labor to repair the component failure, and return shipping back to you within the continental U.S., but does not include initial shipping charges or packaging to get the machine to us. Hope this helps!

What is the difference between the Odea Go and the Odea Go Plus?

Best Answer: There is not really a difference than the color between the Odea Go and the Odea Go Plus. The units have the same features and programming, but different name plates on the front and different color sides and front. The Plus model also offers a water droplet button on the front of the machine to press for hot water dispensing while the regular version has a dial at the top to turn to steam or hot water and a steam icon on the front of the unit. Otherwise shots are the same!

Easy to use, steams milk in seconds. Not sure how to adjust the grind setting, though-directions were not clear and I'm afraid to break it. Overall, I love it! (Posted on 2/24/2015)

I ordered a refurbished machine and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent condition it came in, I am totally satisfied with the whole transaction from the ease of ordering, quality of the machine, and the excellent coffee I enjoy with every cup that comes out of this machine! This is a very easy machine to use and setup. There's really not many adjustments other than the amount of water you want to go through your grinds and also the grind size. It seems to have just 1 error indicator so you don't really know the cause of the error when it comes on. However, you only have 4 possibility: low water, low coffee, spent grind full or brew unit isn't in place. For the price, it's a great buy. (Posted on 1/6/2015)
Don't use the plastic wand. Review by Lupy

As you can see from the video, the steam wand leaves something to be desired but if you remove the rubber tip it's got a nice point that will make micro foam. Once I suck a little air into the milk, I raise the cup stand high enough to rest the milk there. I can lower it a little to get more foam. I have had mine for a year and make an average of four shots a day. I clean the group once a week or so and it's worked great. I had a Vienna before, and like this better. (Posted on 5/20/2014)
