We'll take your stainless steel-cased Saeco Syntia and raise you an automatic milk frother. Yes, the Refurbished Saeco Syntia Cappuccino Superautomatic Espresso Machine comes with that extra added feature of a milk frother, making less work for you when you want to enjoy your favorite frothy drinks. Even better, the Syntia Cappuccino no longer has a steam wand and comes with a quieter ceramic grinder compared to other machines in its league. The stakes have never been higher with Saeco's Syntia Cappuccino Machine.

Features & Functionality of the Refurbished Saeco Syntia Cappuccino Machine

  • Three-Color Display: With simple and intuitive icons for brewing and maintenance, the Syntia is very easy to operate.
  • Pre-Ground Coffee Option: When you want to brew a quick batch of pre-ground coffee, you can use Syntia's bipass doser located on the top of the machine.
  • Automatic Milk Frother: After pushing one button, the Syntia Cappuccino machine will do the rest: frothing, brewing and placing your drink in a cup with no need for assistance.
  • Ceramic Grinder: A quieter grinder than steel, ceramic grinders also stay sharper longer.
  • Aroma System: The Saeco Aroma System pre-wets your coffee grinds to ensure the best possible coffee extraction. This feature, also known as pre-infustion, can be turned off or on, or lengthened to suit your taste.
  • Removable Water Tank: The 40-ounce removable water tank includes one Intenza water filter.
  • Energy-Saving Function: Your Saeco superautomatic can be set to shut down after a certain amount of time, so you never need to worry about wasting power.
  • Protective Coffee Bean: The large coffee bean hopper has an airtight sealed lid with an anti-UV coating.
  • Simple to Use - The Syntia has simple, one-touch button controls and an easy-to-use three-color interface.
  • Stainless-Steel Casing - Nothing looks better in your kitchen than stainless-steel casing wrapped around your espresso machine.
  • Compact Design - The Syntia is smaller than most of the other superautomatic designs on the market and is sure to fit almost anywhere.
  • No Oily Beans - As with all superautomatics, the Syntia does not like super oily beans because they can clog the grinder over time.
  • No SBS - This machine does not feature the Saeco Brewing System like some of its other counterparts.
How Does it Compare? This is a great one-touch if you don't have a lot of extra space.

What brand coffee do you recceomend that's NOT oily?
A shopper on May 23, 2016
Best Answer: The Oily beans conundrum was an issue for us as we like dark roast coffee. We solved the problem by mixing Trader Joes Columbia Supermo Medium Roast (Toucan on the tin) with Starbucks French Roast. Works great in our machine.

My refurbished machine came without the measuring spoon and the brewing group lubricant. Could you tell me 1) what is the size (in tsp or similar equivalent) of the measuring spoon for ground coffee and 2) what type of lubricant I should buy for the brewing group? Thank you in advance!
Ewa F on Nov 9, 2013
Best Answer: after reading the insert about what to expect in the box i knew somethings should be in the box like filters, lube and cleaners. SCG is generous enough to include descaling packets but i really didn't expect that. That being said my scoop was missing too. i though i would ask since the scoops are specific to the saeco machines. the costumer service was great and ended up sending out a scoop for the bypass. I have been more then happy with the machine as well.

How old is this machine? How many coffees have been made? What happens if something goes wrong and I buy an extended warranty
Irene A on Apr 24, 2016
Best Answer: Hi Irene
I believe this particular refurbished model was 4 yrs old when I purchased it from SCG. I also purchased a refurbished Saeco Incanto de luxe from SCG which is about 12 yrs old.
My wife and I make at least six cups of coffee every morning. And both units have given us super operations over several years. We descale on a regular basis and either ship or bring the units to SCG for servicing when/if either unit require servicing. SCG service what they sell and honor all machine warranties.
I hope I've answered all your questions to your satisfaction.

My Syntia Superautomatic does not make foam, it only bubbles it a little and heats the milk, it also steams a LOT when steaming milk and spits. You can't even see the buttons there is so much steam or see how much milk is in your cup. Should the froth have more body? Right now, all I'm getting is hot milk and no foam AT ALL. Any suggestions? Is this what to expect from this machine or is this broke?
A shopper on Nov 18, 2013
Best Answer: Unfortunately a fair amount of steam can be created using the Syntia Cappuccino, and it does sound as though your machine is working normally. The downside to this unit is that there is not a way to alter the foam level of the milk in order to provide more body. We have found the best results with 2% milk, and have not been super pleased with the results using alternative milks like soy. Finally, the best tip to keeping the Syntia Cappuccino working well is to keep it very clean, so rinse and run a milk detergent like Rinza through the carafe of the unit at least once a week. I have included a link to Rinza below. Hope this helps!

This refurbished unit condition is good?
A shopper on Nov 7, 2013
Best Answer: The refurbished machines are machines that we have tested to ensure they are in good working order, however they have had a previous owner and therefore we cannot guarantee that they will not have minor scratches. If you are concerned about minor scratches in the appearance of the unit, I would recommend a new machine. However, if you are looking for a lower priced option that is tested and working well, refurbished machines are a great choice!

Does the height adjust for tall cups?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2013
Best Answer: The tallest cups you can fit under this Saeco Cappuccino Superautomatic are 4.25 inches, with the spout capable of moving down but no further up, unfortunately.

What is the significance that this machine doesnt have a Saeco Brewing System? Ironically its a Saeco...
A shopper on Sep 9, 2013
Best Answer: The Saeco Brewing System, or SBS, is actually a feature of some of their machines which allows for an adjustment to the crema on the espresso. It allows for decreasing the amount of crema on Americanos, and is found on machines like the Incanto or the Exprelia. Since it only decreases crema, it is not something that most folks miss if they choose the Syntia family of machines rather than a machine with the SBS.

How about lattes? Can I program it to make those?
Zack G. on Aug 18, 2013
Best Answer: This Syntia Cappuccino machine has just one programmable milk button. Though you can vary the amount (volume) of milk frothed, unfortunately you cannot alter the level of foam to be more or less froth for a latte versus a cappuccino. For this flexibility it is easiest to froth your milk manually with a panarello on a similar machine like the Saeco Syntia Stainless Steel Compact, found at the link below:

Besides cappuccino, can I make espresso, hot cocos, and Americanos with this machine?
A shopper on Aug 8, 2012
Best Answer: The Saeco Syntia Cappuccino will make an espresso or an Americano as well as a cappuccino, but none of the superautomatic machines will make a hot coco.

Value delivered with ease, as long as you maintainReview by Syllable
I really have had three good years of coffee ease and excellence from this machine. Like my first car, a Fiat 850 convertible, it is both exquisite and high-maintenance. The 850 used 96 octane fuel or else it did not perform well; likewise one must wisely choose the beans, embracing dark roast while eschewing oily beans. Cleaning the Brew unit (a simple 30-second rinse under the tap) whenever the beans run out is key. The Fiat required periodic carbuerator cleaning of the jets which screwed out, and this machine requires semiannual (decalcification/removing coffee oils) and annual maintenance as well. A torx screwdriver, a prepackaged rebuild kit (lube, o-ring, and water filter, available at Amazon), some YouTube access, and patience will go a long way to finding years of deliciousness and convenience in your busy and lazy mornings. Works Great except...Review by Gary
Works great. It does every thing it suppose to do. How ever the green display light went out in less than one year. Bummer! (Posted on 8/13/2014)
I really love it!Review by Bellammae
I am so happy I bought this refurbished machine. What a fantastic bargain. Makes great cappuccino and espresso. It is also very easy to program. (Posted on 11/18/2013)
Great MachineReview by Mychal
This is our first nice machine. I must say we are very impressed by it so far. The lady loves the one touch operation which makes mornings more bearable since it saves you a lot of time. My only complaint would be no SBS which i would think would also help with the milk foam. Its is certainly more then i expected from the machine! (Posted on 11/3/2013)
