Did your dog run off with your pressurized portafilter one morning and bury it in the yard? This Saeco pressurized portafilter will be the perfect replacement as it fits all Saeco semi-automatic machines using a 53mm brewhead. This replacement uses the upgraded handle, which we have found to be considerably more durable than past models. Includes a double shot basket.
This portafilter handle is compatible any of Saeco's espresso machines with a 53mm brewhead:
Saeco Via Venezia
Saeco Magic Cappuccino
Saeco Gran Crema
Saeco Via Veneto
No Skill Required - You do not have to tamp the espresso into the pressurized portafilter. Just mound it up, brush it smooth and twist onto the brewgroup.
Flat? - Tamping your own non-pressurized portafilter can result in more delicious espresso crema.
Messy - A little extra clean up is required due to mucky pucks with a pressurized portafilter.
How Does it Compare?
For ease of use you cant beat a Pressurized Portafilter-but they can be messy, and once you learn the ins and outs of a Non-pressurized Portafilter you will appreciate a better espresso shot quality.
Best Answer:I'm not sure if your machine is the same as mine. I have a Starbucks Barista Espresso Machine I bought 12 years ago at one of their stores. I do believe they were made by Saeco for Starbucks. After 10 years The portafilter handle snapped when I was locking it in. The replacement is very stout and it fit my machine perfectly. Do a Bing or a Google search on the Starbucks Barista Espresso Machine and see if it looks like yours. The portafilter is a little expensive but it works like a charm, and my machine has been working fine ever since. Being all stainless steel it is built to last. Kim L.
Hi, I have a four year old via venezia, it will only extract coffee is the valve in the base of the portafilter is removed. All other parts of the machine seem to be working perfectly. Do I need a new portafilter or could there be something more serious with my machine?

Best Answer:It sounds like it's just the portafilter, especially if you are able to still brew properly, if you modify the portafilter. Essentially, by checking that you can get water through the brew head, this indicates that the machine is working properly, but it sounds like you may either have too much build up in the portafilter, or may just need to replace the portafilter.
Hi, I have a la pavoni si espresso machine which uses a 53mm pressurized portafilter. I want to know if this portafilter will work with my machine and if it doesn't work, can I return it? How much will I have to pay for restocking fees/shipping, etc.? Thanks!
Best Answer:Unfortunately I am not sure that this portafilter will work for your machine, as I don't have that model here to test. If the portafilter is unused we can accept a return, and you would be responsible for shipping fees. Our return policy is below:
I have a Via Venezia Saeco "Italy" bought at Starbucks. Part sin006xn. The handle unit that drips the espresso broke. Is this the right part?
A shopper on Dec 16, 2013
Best Answer:This Pressurized Portafilter for the Via Venezia should be compatible with your machine if yours lists "Via Veneiza" in the name, and the SIN number is also a match to the current Via Venezia, so yes, this is the correct portafilter to your machine.
I own an older Starbucks Barista...at least 8 years old. The handle finally broke off. Which do you recommend the Via Venezia or the Aroma pressurized portafilter? They both show to be compatible with the Barista and are both the same price.
A shopper on Jul 17, 2013
Best Answer:Both would work fine! This Via Venezia Pressurized Portafilter has a bit thicker handle that is a slightly "cushier" material, while the Aroma portafilter is a thinner handle of harder plastic.
Exact replacement for my via venencia, I took my old one apart to clean and I destroyed it. That was on a Sunday and I found my replacement here with the best price and free shipping. I was thrilled when it showed up on the following Thursday. I am glad to have found Seattle coffee gear and I have learned a lot looking around and watching videos. I'll keep coming back! Thank SCG!

as good as newReview by ALN
We've had the Via Venezia now for 4 years. I love the idea of chasing the perfect cup of espresso…however don't have time and prefer consistency instead. Just about every cup is as good as the last. Broke the pressure spring while cleaning out the original portafilter and let me tell you, there is a ridiculous difference when it isn't working correctly! Ordered the new one from Seattle Coffee Gear. It was washed and put into use within minutes of arrival - as good as new! (Posted on 12/30/2013)
Quality product, quality serviceReview by Joe
This portafilter for the Saeco Via Venezia fits the my Saeco Aroma but is heavier and more substantially built, and makes better crema than the original.
SCG offers fast free delivery with tracking. A company with integrity that I would order from without hesitation. (Posted on 12/30/2012)
Exact replacement for Starbucks Barista portafilterReview by Scott
After many many years, our Starbucks Barista portafilter broke (the tiny spring and mechanism inside). I tried running "non-pressurized" as many had suggested on the web, but couldn't find a grind that gave me the wonderful "crema"; in short, too much headache. So I found this replacement at the best price here at Seattle Coffee Gear. Shipping was fast, the part is an exact match and it works perfectly.
Only one minor issue: the metal wire that holds the basket was formed into more of a octagon than a circle, so the basket was very hard to remove. With some gentle bending, I was easily able to shape the wire into a better circle and now have the exact amount of ease (for me, anyway) in removing the basket. Maybe this is a "feature"?
Summary: exact replacement, works perfectly (beautiful crema with virtually any type or grind of coffee), fast shipping, helpful web site and great service! (Posted on 9/25/2012)
Excellente Mundo!Review by EVE
Seattle Coffee Gear was speedy in getting the portafilter in the mail and to me in Philadelphia--it arrived right away. I broke the original (which was about 8 years old) and the replacement was much better. The original never made the crema foam.... this one does! (Posted on 8/13/2012)
Good Solid PortafilterReview by Steve
This is a nice portafilter. The handle is better than the portafilter that came with the machine. I ordered the stainless steel machine and only the black metal machines apparently come with the better handle. I just ordered a spare to use when making a lot of coffee for guests.

Saeco Portafilter- saves the dayReview by a2z
Much to my surprise, I purchased this replacement portafilter and I get a great cup of espresso every time. My disappointment is now with the fact that I have been living without this for 2 years and for [$] for the original machine. Why it would not come with a better portafilter. My only complaint is that it is hard to get the basket out to try and clean it. Thank you Seattle Coffee Gear.
