Product Description

Specifically roasted as a smooth and complex espresso blend, but one of our personal favorites for drip brewing, you simply can't go wrong with Tony's Coffee Ganesha Espresso blend. Winner of the 2013 America's Best Espresso Competition and the recipient of a 94 point score from Coffee Review, the Ganesha espresso blend is slightly sweet with hints of complex chocolate and fruity notes.

Pros
  • Versatile Blend - It's not often that an espresso blend comes along that not only works well in a traditional semi-automatic espresso machine, but is also light enough to work in a super-automatic espresso machine and offers an array of flavor notes that brews a tasty pot of drip coffee. Is there anything Ganesha can't do?!
How Does it Compare?

Much like Wine Spectator provides expert ratings and feedback on wine, Coffee Review conducts blind taste tests, known as cuppings, by industry experts to provide honest, 100-point ratings. Scoring a nearly perfect 94 points is no easy feat, but Tony's Ganesha espresso not only scored high with Coffee Review, but also took the trophy home in 2013 for America's Best Espresso.

Origin of beans?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2016
Best Answer: Since Ganesha is a blend of different beans and is available year-round, the sourcing of the beans likely varies depending on what's in-season at any given moment.

Hope this helps!

A very nice espresso but the price it a bit too steep.Review by Godfather

This is a very nice espresso with a subtle sweetness. It's bright and fruity with hints of chocolate and blueberry. The only real criticism I have is the price is a bit too much for a bag. I can buy other beans for a smaller price that compare in quality therefore getting better value. (Posted on 4/21/2017)
The Only Mellow One of the BunchReview by Robert of Scottsdale

I was looking for something compatible with a superautomatic. Has to be non-oily to work. I wanted something that was mellow and not sour or acidic. Ganesha Espresso was the winner over Veltons Twilight Blend. Ruby's Creamery Seasonal and Counter Culture Big Trouble were sour tasting and I really wish I hadn't bought these two. Has merit, but...Review by Mike

Picked up a bag of this on a whim - hard to pass up a first place winner right? To qualify this review I will state I've been using Papa Nicholas Italian Espresso (whole bean) for about 20 years. I don't have access to a lot of specialty roasters in the Midwest, and while I've tried numerous brands in the past my pallette always comes back to the Papa Nicholas. The Ganesha is a lighter medium roast, and the freshly ground coffee had a more fragrant and floral nose than my control. I made a cup of each in my Rancilio Sylvia, and evaluated side by side. Cremas were nominally equivalent, and the Ganesha exhibits less acidity. The Ganesha again gets a nod for complexity, but it lacked the bold "pop" I expect/require in an espresso. To my taste the Ganesha would be better suited for drip or French press use, but lacks the bold darkness I prefer in an espresso shot. It is still an excellent coffee and much better than the majority of options I have available, but at $18 a pound I would not purchase it again. (Posted on 10/5/2016)
