Operation Instructions

Note: Before plugging the kettle into the wall outlet, check that the electrical circuit is not overloaded with other appliances.

Setting Up the Kettle:

  1. Set the base (7) on a flat, steady surface.
  2. Insert female end of the removable power cord into the base (7) firmly.
  3. Plug the power cord (20) into a grounded wall outlet (illustration A), the base will beep twice and the Power icon (12) will be visible.

Preparing the Kettle for First Time Use:

  1. Remove the kettle from its base (7), and remove lid (2) from the kettle.
  2. Fill the kettle to the “Max” fill line (4) inside the kettle with cold water (approx. 2L) (illustration B).
  3. Replace the lid (2) with vent holes (3) facing away from the handle (5) (illustration C).
  4. Place the kettle back on its base (7).
  5. Press the Power icon (12) (illustration D).
    ◦ All icons will be visible on the base if the kettle is present.
    ◦ If kettle is not on the base (7) , then the timer will be visible (See timer section on page 11 of this manual).
  6. Press the Smart Boil icon (13).
  7. Bring water to a boil, then empty the kettle.
  8. Allow the appliance to cool down for 1 minute.
  9. Repeat boil and rinse procedure twice before using your Brewista kettle.

Normal Use:

  1. Remove the kettle from its base (7), and remove lid (2) from kettle.
  2. Fill the kettle to desired level above the “Min” fill line and below the “Max” fill line (4) shown inside the kettle with water (illustration B).
  3. Replace the lid (2) with the vent holes (3) facing away from the handle (5) (illustration C).
  4. Place the kettle back on its base (7).
  5. Press the Power icon (12) once to turn on the kettle, then press the Power icon again (illustration D).
    ◦ The Power icon (12) and the Target Temperature (9) will flash for 3 seconds.
    ◦ During that 3 second interval, press the [ + ] or [ - ] icons [(19) or (18)] if needed to change the target temperature.
  6. The kettle will heat the water to the target temperature, displaying Actual Water Temperature (11) on the right side of the LCD Readout (10).
  7. You will hear 3 beeps when the target temperature is reached.
  8. The kettle’s Keep Warm function will automatically maintain the desired temperature for one hour.
    ◦ The LCD Readout (10) will continue to show the actual water temperature.
    ◦ Once the Keep Warm cycle is complete, the LCD Readout will show the actual water temperature for the next 10 minutes of inactivity before the base enters Sleep Mode.
  9. To stop the heating cycle, press the Power icon (12) again or lift the kettle from its base.
  10. After 10 minutes of inactivity, the base will enter Sleep Mode.
