2021 Holiday Shopping Guide: Drip Brewing

Today we’re looking at some great gifting options for getting your giftee into drip coffee. Many coffee drinkers already have a drip brewer, but the options we’ve got here today also act as great upgrades! Let’s jump in and take a look.

Grinders

You might think the most important thing to look for when purchasing a drip brewer is the brewer itself. While that is, of course, a key choice, grinder selection is nearly as important. Whether getting a gift for someone else or yourself, a great grinder is the most important part of slow brewing coffee aside from the coffee itself! With that in mind, there are some excellent options that would be an easy group gift to pick up for the person on your list looking to up their coffee game. Our biggest recommendation here is the Solis Scala. This slow brew perfect grinder is a fantastic entry point for slow brewing, or a solid replacement for your aging grinder. It’s affordable too, which makes it easy to gift. If you know someone in need of an upgrade, the Eureka Mignon Crono offers a premium brew grinding experience at a price well suited for a group gift for that one coffee lover we all know!

Brewers

When it comes to brewers, there’s a few great options to choose from. If you have the budget for it and you know your giftee loves their drip coffee, the Technivorm Moccamaster Select and the Breville Precision Brewer both offer incredible performance and reliability. If your giftee prefers simple operation of their coffee maker then the Moccamaster is the way to go. With simple controls and the ability to brew a half or a full put, this is a great choice for consistency, style, and ease of use. If they like a little more control, then the Precision brewer has it in spades. If you’re on a tighter budget and just want great coffee, drip brewers from Braun are a decent choice as well. Some of our most affordable brewers, these may not have quite the knockout performance and reliability of the Technivorm, but they do make a good cup of coffee. Considering that a Solis Scala and a Braun brewer come in at right around $200, this is a setup that you could definitely put together for someone with some group gifting. And who could forget, no coffee setup is complete without the beans! We've got a fresh new gift subscription program here at Seattle Coffee Gear that makes the perfect holiday gift. Check it out! As we’ve said before, it’s extra important to start shopping early this year. Because we’ve seen such volume with our carriers, it’s best to get ahead of the game to avoid any missing gifts come the holidays!
