Recipe: Snowball

Growing up out on the rez, winters were perforated by weeks of power and water outages; after a few years of this, we installed an amazing wood stove to keep us cozy through the dog days of winter. The stove also performed nearly constant double duty as the cocoa creator -- there's nothing quite like a steaming mug of cocoa to warm you up! It's with this in mind that we developed a monochromatic version, using steamed milk and a few light-hued syrups and sauces. We hope you'll enjoy this lovely steamer for the rest of the season. Ingredients

Directions Combine syrups and sauce together in a large mug, mix well. Add the steamed/warmed milk and stir thoroughly. Top with whipped cream, if you dig it; then sip while you wait for the power to come back on.
