Syrup Series: Juniper Latte Recipe

Bring the winter flavor with this bold and flavorful juniper latte!

Ingredients:

Juniper Latte:

1 oz juniper syrup (see below)

2 oz espresso

6 oz steamed milk

Juniper Syrup*

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 tbsp juniper berries

1 tbsp cardamom pods Orange zest (1 small orange)

Sprig of rosemary for garnish

To make the syrup, start by crushing juniper berries and cardamom pods together.

Add water to pot, then sugar, then juniper-cardamom mix.

Bring to a boil then simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Remove from heat and zest orange into pot.

Stir all together and let it cool.

Once cooled, strain into storage container.

To build the latte, add 1-2 tablespoons of juniper syrup to a mug.

Add freshly brewed espresso and top with steamed milk.

Garnish with candied orange or a sprig of rosemary.
