How to Use the Ascaso Steel (2018)
1. Check that the electrical voltage matches what is shown on the machine's nameplate. Fill the water tank with fresh water. The installer should carefully read the manual before starting up the machine.
2. For first time use or after a long period of disuse, let about half a tank of clean water run through the machine. This renews the water in the internal circuit.
3. To make coffee, place the portafilter with ground coffee or pod/capsule in the group head. For ground coffee, fill the filter basket 3/4 full after tamping. Place cup(s) on the tray and press the coffee switch.
4. To make cappuccino, press the steam switch and wait for the pilot light to indicate steam temperature is reached. Open the steam knob and release some water, then close it. Immerse the steam wand halfway into the milk to heat and texture it. Close the steam knob when finished.
5. For hot water, place a cup under the hot water spout and press the hot water switch.
6. The PID models allow adjusting the coffee temperature, pre-infusion, stand-by time, etc. using the PID controls and display.
7. The machine enters an energy-saving stand-by mode after 2 hours of inactivity.
8. Regular cleaning of the brew group, steam wand, portafilter and drip tray is important. Descale the machine every 1-3 months depending on usage and water hardness.
9. Follow all the safety precautions outlined in the manual. The warranty may be void if instructions are not followed.
