Inside this manual, you will find detailed instructions on how to set up your coffee maker, brew the perfect cup of coffee, and maintain your machine for optimal performance.
Coffee Maker Setup
- Check Installation: Ensure all components, including the silicone water bridge, internal mixing tube, and RainmakerTM showerhead, are correctly installed. Place the Coffee Maker in a well-ventilated area, avoiding operation under cabinets.
Note: While recommended, the Coffee Maker can function without the internal mixing tube.
- Water Reservoir: Fill the reservoir with clean, cold water, maintaining levels between the "2 Cup" and "MAX" markings.
- Securely close the reservoir lid.
- Prepare Brew Basket: Open the brew basket lid and insert a No.4 cone-shaped paper filter.
- Ensure the brew basket lid is closed securely.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Pour medium-ground coffee into the filter, using approximately 8 grams per cup (5 fl oz).
- Use one level scoop of coffee per cup, following SCAA recommendations for optimal extraction.
- Select Cup Range: Access the cup setting menu by pressing the OXO button or twisting the dial.
- Choose the appropriate cup range (2–4 or 5–9) based on the desired number of cups.

- The illuminated LED ring indicates that brewing has begun.
Brewing Cycle
- Brewing Adjustments: The Coffee Maker adjusts brewing time for optimal extraction based on the selected cup range.
- The internal water pump follows a programmed coffee bloom cycle and brief pauses within the brewing cycle for extraction optimization.
- Pause and Pour Feature: Removing the carafe during brewing triggers a 60-second pause in the brew cycle to prevent spills.
- Brewing resumes if the carafe is replaced within 60 seconds.
- Completion and Freshness Timer: Once brewing is complete, the icon appears, and the freshness timer counts up to 60 minutes.
- For the best taste, consume coffee within one hour of brewing.
Coffee Tips
- Water Quality: Use fresh water for the best-tasting coffee. Consider bottled or filtered water if local water quality is poor, avoiding distilled water.
- Storage: Divide large portions of coffee beans into one- or two-week portions stored in tinted, airtight containers. Refrigeration is not recommended.
- Grinding: Grind coffee beans just before brewing using a medium grind suitable for automatic drip coffee makers. The OXO On Conical Burr Coffee Grinder with Integrated Scale is recommended.
