  • Sustainable Cleaning - Urnex' Biocaf line is designed to clean just as effectively as classic cleaners, while being better for the environment in the process.
  • Oil Eater - A spoonful of detergent is all it takes to keep your espresso machine's screen and diffuser free-flowing and oil-free.

Overview

Keep your espresso investment in top condition with Biocaf's Coffee Cleaning Powder. Coffee cleaning powder is an excellent catch-all solution for removing coffee oil buildup in your machine's group, portafilter, and baskets. Use Biocaf as a regular backflushing detergent, or mixed in warm water to soak your portafilter free of its brown coffee stains. Best of all, the Biocaf line features biodegradable, phosphate-free formulation while offering the same cleaning strength as traditional detergents. 500 gram container.

Could you use this product to soak the removable internal brew group on an automatic latte machine? Grounds fall down inside the inner workings of my machine’s removable “brew group” part all the time. I am instructed to just rinse the part out weekly, but that isn’t sufficient to remove the gunk and grounds. I’m looking for something to try, even if I may be going against the product’s recommended cleaning protocol by soaking the part in a cleaning solution.

Hello! You definitely can, soaking in a cleaning solution with something like Biocaf can certainly help remove the gunk and grounds. The one thing is that some brew units are lubricated (Such as Philips, Saeco, Delonghi) and the soaking can remove some of that lubrication around the joints of the brew group when done routinely. You can buy food safe lubricant from Philips/Saeco if you need to apply more, but it'd take a number of soaks to notice any stuttering, clunking, or squeaking from lack of lubrication.
