Meet the Eureka Mignon Silenzio 55

Eureka’s Mignon line has grown a lot in the last few years. Today we’re excited to discuss the newest addition to the Mignon family - the Silenzio 55.

What is the Eureka Mignon Silenzio 55?

This grinder is a new version of the existing Mignon Silenzio. These grinders are built on the Mignon platform, meaning they’re compact, sturdy, and offer high quality features like a stepless grind adjustment for ultra-precise grinding. This grinder is for espresso, and won’t be a good fit for you if you’re looking for slow brew grinding, but for espresso grinding you’ll get precision here that you won’t often find in a grinder at this price point.

Other than that, the Mignon Silenzio 55 is a relatively simple machine. It doesn’t offer timed programming, but what it does offer is in the name - ultra quiet grinding. Many home espresso grinders can be quite loud, and the noise can be a little harsh. The high pitch of other espresso grinders can be unpleasant, and will certainly wake the family. Not so with the Silenzio 55, which offers sound insulation in the case that keeps things as quiet as possible - which it turns out is quite quiet.

The other part of the name speaks to the upgrade that the Silenzio 55 offers over the original. This grinder features bigger 55mm burrs, which make for quicker, more consistent grinding. It’s a simple change, but one that is very noticeable side by side.

Who is the Silenzio 55 for?

As noted, this grinder is definitely for use with espresso machines. With that in mind, it’s a great pick for any espresso enthusiast that’s looking for a high-end grinder that’s fast, quiet, and precise. While it isn’t a cheap grinder, it offers a lot of value at its price point, and is built to last. The only thing that some users might not like about the Silenzio 55 is its stepless adjustment. This style of grind adjust makes for ultra precise grinding, but it can be challenging for new users to learn to use. We recommend doing some research on stepless adjust to make sure it’s right for you, because if so then this is an excellent grinder option for anyone seeking a quiet grind.
