Say Hello to Alto from Diletta!

Since its launch just a few years ago, the Diletta brand has become a mark of quality, performance, and thoughtful engineering. Today that tradition continues with the launch of the Diletta Alto Espresso Machine, and we couldn’t be more excited. Let’s take a look at what makes this machine tick!

Style and Performance

The Diletta Alto might look familiar to you with its classic Italian espresso styling, and that’s no mistake. Every Alto is hand-built in Milan, Italy, and it was designed with an eye towards espresso tradition. You might also notice the similarities in design between the Alto and one of Diletta’s other machines - the Bello+. In fact, the Alto shares many of the user-centric features of the Bello+, such as its easy to use temp controls, automatic shot timing, power conscious eco mode, convenient shot timer, and adjustable preinfusion.

One new element of the Alto’s design is its tap controls for steam and hot water. These professional style valves are a rare find on home espresso machines, but a welcome one here. This machine also retains the Bello+’s PID controlled temperatures, but upgrades the heating system from a heat exchanger to a more robust dual boiler. This dual boiler approach means you’ll be able to brew more drinks without needing a break for recovery. It also means you’ll always be just a tap away from perfect steam for milk frothing.

Ultimately, this machine does everything you’d expect from the Bello+ but better, and at just an inch wider.

Flow Control

If you want even more control over your espresso shots you can upgrade to a model of the Alto with Flow Control. This version of the machine gives you fine control over the flow of water through your espresso puck. With a bit of practice you can pull declining pressure shots, turbo shots, and more. This version of the Alto provides incredible value just like the base model, as this sort of advanced feature is typically found on much more expensive machines.

The Diletta Alto really is the perfect option for any user looking for a new premium espresso machine, especially if you’re an enthusiast that would enjoy the flow control options afforded by the upgraded model.
