Summer is going strong and we all need some cool treats to bring down the heat. Today we've got a delicious spiked cold brew lemonade that's perfect for a backyard barbecue or a dinner party on the deck.
2 oz vodka
2 oz cold brew
1/2 oz plum tarragon syrup*
4 oz lemonade**
Plum wedge and sprig of tarragon for garnish
Combine cold brew, vodka, and syrup in a shaker filled with ice, and shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into a pint glass filled with ice, and garnish with a slice of fresh plum and a sprig of fresh tarragon. *Plum and Tarragon Simple Syrup
6 sprigs fresh tarragon
4 plums, cut into small pieces
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
Bring water, plums, and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and let stand for 20 minutes. Strain mixture through a mesh strainer into a heat resistant container, and allow to cool completely. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. ** Fresh Lemonade
1 ½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice, about 9 lemons
7 cups cold water
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher, and stir until syrup is dissolved.
