Top 3 Espresso Grinders of 2021

We hope you’ve been enjoying our Top 3 2021 content! We’re back today with a look at our top 3 espresso grinders for 2021. There are a lot of great grinders out there, but these are our favorites for this year!

Eureka Mignon Notte

The Mignon Notte is a fantastic espresso grinder from Eureka that’s perfect for newer users or those who don’t need extra bells and whistles. This grinder offers the high end performance of Eureka’s Mignon line at a much more affordable price than grinders with similar speed and consistency. On top of this high performance, this grinder offers high precision as well. The stepless adjuster gives you an effectively infinite number of grind settings for dialing in your espresso shots. While this adjuster can be a little tough to learn to use initially, once you’re used to dialing it in you’ll be able to explore a new level of flavor. Both the performance and consistency and the precision of this grinder is typically only found on options two to three times the price. That’s why the Eureka Mignon Notte is such a shoe-in for our 2021 favorites!

Breville Smart Grinder Pro

The Smart Grinder Pro is one of the rare instances of a grinder that offers settings fine enough for espresso and coarse enough for pour over or press coffee. While we do believe that a dedicated grinder for different brew styles is the best way to go, that’s not always an option for everyone. The Smart Grinder Pro is a good way to get all of your coffee grinding needs in one place. This grinder starts with that all-around solid performance. It may not be as quick or quiet as some higher end options, but it’s still consistent and offers high quality grounds. This grinder is controlled via a dial and easy to use screen which will give you an extra clear reading of where you are on its stepped adjustments. It can also be programmed with several timed dosing options, allowing you to program your doses for different brew amounts and methods. Add affordable pricing and this is an excellent grinder for a range of brew methods!

Baratza Sette 270

The Baratza Sette 270 has been one of our favorites for many years. This grinder is low retention, quick, and consistent, and it’s easy to take apart and maintain thanks to its shape. With timed programming options to dial in your dose, you can recreate your shots easily with less waste. On top of this programmability, the Sette 270 allows for micro, and macro burr adjustments that give you fine control of your grind size. This adjustability means you’ll be able to grind over a wide range for espresso. You also get the Sette’s small footprint and great workflow setup. With an easy to use portafilter fork and quick access to the burrs, using and maintaining this grinder is a breeze! We hope you’ve enjoyed this look at our favorite espresso grinders for 2021.
