Description

Deliciously sweet, this clean low-acid coffee is named not for its difficulty to brew, but for the challenge the Counter Culture coffee buyers face in sourcing just the right beans for this blend. Designed to remind you of a traditional Italian espresso, Big Trouble combines those chocolatey, nutty flavors loved by so many to create an amazing cup no matter how it is brewed- pour over, french press, espresso- choose your favorite!

Recommended Brew Methods

Start with a 16:1 water-to-coffee ratio for your dosing. You’ll want a medium grind size for drip brewing that’s finer than what you’d use for pourover. Make sure you give the filter basket a shake to evenly distribute the grounds in the filter for best results. Turn on your brewer and it’ll do the rest!

For a French Press brew we recommend a 1:12 coffee to water ratio with coffee ground at the consistency of sea salt. Add your grounds to the brewing chamber. then add twice the water as there are grounds to the chamber. Stir gently and allow to bloom for about 30 seconds. Place the top on the press and allow it to steep for 4 minutes. Plunge the press slowly and enjoy!

Superautos make brewing espresso easy. All you need to do is add beans to the hopper and press a button to pull yourself a shot. If your shot is a bit sour you’ll want to dial the grinder a little bit finer and try again. If it’s bitter, dial it a little coarser. You can find instructions on how to do this for your machine in the manual. Just remember to avoid oily beans that can clog your superauto’s grinder!
