Getting started with the Terra Kaffe TK-02
Setting up the TK-02 is straightforward and guided in large part by the machine's built-in touchscreen onboarding process.
What's in the box
Your TK-02 ships with the machine, milk carafe, milk hose, water filter, power cord, TK Machine Descaler, and TK Brewer Cleaner. Before first use, remove all packaging material and labels from the machine.
Preparing for first use
Connect the power cord to the machine first, then plug into a grounded three-prong outlet. Remove the water filter from its packaging, hold it under running water for 30 seconds until fully saturated, then install it into the water tank. Fill the water tank with fresh, still, room-temperature water, and add whole coffee beans to the bean hopper. Turn on the power switch located on the back of the machine and follow the onboarding steps shown on the touchscreen. At the end of the onboarding process, the machine will run a rinse cycle — keep hands clear of the spout during this time.
Placement and clearance
Place the machine on a stable, level surface with a minimum of 1.5 inches of clearance on both sides for ventilation. The spout area needs enough overhead clearance to accommodate your tallest cup or carafe.
Daily use
Tap any drink on the touchscreen to begin brewing — grinding and extraction start immediately. To add an extra shot, tap "Add another shot" while the grinder is running. To sleep the machine, use the touchscreen sleep option rather than the back power switch, which bypasses an important rinse-down cycle.
A note on pre-ground coffee
The TK-02 supports pre-ground coffee via the dedicated chute on top of the machine. Use no more than 14g per brew, and only one serving at a time. Never add pre-ground coffee while the machine is off, and never place whole beans in the pre-ground chute.
