FAQs
Stepless grind adjustment lets you change the grind setting without preset clicks or notches. You turn a dial, collar, or knob to choose a position anywhere within the grinder’s adjustment range.
A stepped coffee grinder uses fixed positions, usually marked by clicks. A stepless grinder lets you select positions between those fixed points. Stepped controls offer clearly defined settings, while stepless controls give you more flexibility when making small adjustments.
Check the grinder’s markings or manual to identify the finer and coarser directions. Move the adjustment control a little at a time, then grind a small amount before making another change. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance on whether the motor should be running during adjustment, especially when moving finer.
Use the dial markings and a fixed reference point to record your settings. A quick photo or note can help you return to a starting point when changing beans or brewing methods. If the adjustment control makes multiple rotations, record the rotation count along with the dial position.
Keep exposed adjustment areas free of loose grounds with a soft brush or dry cloth, following the grinder’s care instructions. For cleaning beneath a collar or inside the mechanism, use the manufacturer’s recommended procedure. After removing and reinstalling burrs or adjustment components, check whether the grinder requires recalibration.
