Absolute accessory

For the Acaia Lunar scale, you need the Portafilter Weigh Plate. Works very well and looks good. Is an absolute requirement if you want to weigh your ground coffee in your Portafilter.

Nice to have, but probably could go without it

Kinda regret buying it since I only need it for splitting the shot into 2 cups. It is a bit magnetic, but also seems a bit cheap in material. The plate hangs off the back of the scale and keeps rotating on me, so I mostly use the rubber mat it came with.

Does the portafilter plate fit any scale ?

I cannot balance a Rocket portafilter on this unless I am extremely careful, and even then the portafilter will usually roll over and spill my coffee. Not sure what I’m doing wrong?

How does it work. If you tare on the plate, do you tare again for the portafilter?

Patrick C.

You can also place the plate and the filter on the scale at once and tare a single time.

do you need the lunar for this to work?

Patrick C.

This is not a scale, it is just a plate that a portafilter will sit on. it's branded for use with the lunar because a portafilter will not fit on that scale without it. So yes, you could use this with other scales, but it won't do anything by itself.
