Overview

Eureka’s Oro Mignon Single Dose espresso grinder is a premium device for high-end, single dose espresso brewing. With all of the performance and precision of Eureka’s Mignon line, this grinder also features a canted base to help reduce retention as much as possible. This is good, because the Oro Mignon Single Dose is built for just what the name implies - single dosing your espresso beans. By measuring your beans before you grind and then just grinding what you need you can really dial in the precision of your shot. This combined with the included portafilter dosing cup, stepless bottom burr adjust, and hopper bellows for clearing the grind path makes for a truly precise way to grind for your espresso shots.

Eureka Oro Mignon Single Dose is spectacular for clarity and body.

Spectacular grinder in every way! I've been making coffee for 30 years and this grinder has all the improvements in every category you'd want from a single dose. The burrs were perfectly parallel when I ink tested them... the retention is zero with the bellows even on lighter roasts... the machine has huge torque and the adjustment knob has zero adjustment lash which was surprising. The burrs produce true to flavor espresso or v60... if you want to taste the roaster's tasting notes and actually recognize the difference between plum and apple? This is the grinder for you waaaaayyy over the Niche zero. I use it for espresso mostly and V60 and for espresso even with lighter roasts I'm still around a 4 which leaves a tremendous amount of room to grind finer.

Impressed and pleased

I have been using my 17 year old PID Rancillio Silvia and a Rancillio Rocky grinder combo. While the Rocky grinder fit the bill for many years and I have been pleased in general, I could not get the consistent shots I was after, no matter WHAT technique I tried; and I tried them all with great patience. I just got my Eureka Oro grinder and it turns out, I was doing nothing truly "wrong" with my old Rocky, it was the Rocky itself. I know this because after only 3 attempts at dialing-in my Oro, I finally met the shot perfection I had been after! I was actually -shocked- at the shot quality from the Rocky to the Oro (no disrespect to the Rocky). The Oro is very quiet, has less vibration, is much faster, and is more beautiful than my Rocky. I truly enjoy my interaction and operation from start to finish with my Oro. I have no complaints or regrets to report. I'm in love. My Rocky is still employed though, as it solely does pour-over duty, and the Oro, just espresso.

Both Beautiful & Functional...

Not only does the chrome version pair beautifully w/ my Rocket, the Stepless adjustment is mind-boggling how such a minute adjustment can have such a dramatic effect on extraction time, etc... I can literally dial-in for consistent 30/35 second extractions @ 1:2 @ 9 bars, etc... My only concern is if one of the in-laws shows up w/ their toddler, who decides to twist the pretty dial & cause me to spend an entire day recalibrating again (no way to save settings or know "how many twists" it took, assuming I had to start from scratch again). It's also a bit messy as well, with static/beans sticking to the exterior of the chute + the bellows spraying grinds everywhere (which is absolutely necessary, to get as close as possible to 0 retention), though I'm still averaging around .01 loss. Not sure if this machine is supported w/ RDT, but not finding much info online (so I'll deal w/ the cleanup afterwards for now). Outside of these minimal challenges, it's a beautiful machine, LOVE the fact that it's solid/heavy, single-dose w/ the $$$ Flat Burr's (which @ $869 for the chrome) still seems like a value to me... How anyone can say [sic] "Don't buy not for espresso" is beyond me. "Doesn't grind fine enough" is no doubt a user error...

Great Flat Burr Grinder

Works great and looks beautiful! My options for a grinder were this (recently updated by Eureka), the Niche Zero, and the DF64 with a ton of upgrades?I went with the Eureka because if the flat burrs and the aesthetics and I couldn't be happier! Single dosing works great, coffee tastes fantastic (especially compared to my encore!), and the workflow is awesome. The white machine looks great on the counter which helped make my wife approve!

Great Espresso Grinder that made an immediate improvement in my espresso

I've been using this grinder for two to four cups of cappuccino, espresso, or café Americano, daily for the last 6 weeks. It is consistent, easy to adjust, and has minimal retention. The grind is even and fluffy.and I noticed an improvement in the espresso I'm making with my Rocket R58 Cinquantotto.

Love this wonderful single dose grinder

We love this single dose grinder. We've used this nearly 10 times per day for the last year and have found the grinder to be very consistent. I can set it to the right grind for the type of bean I'm grinding using the number dial and I get very consistent results. The grinder leaves very little behind so I can be confident that I'm getting the right dose of ground beans. There are two minor things that I think could be improved:1. It's difficult to see the numbers on the dial over time. They seem to have darkened a bit with use and the dial is tilted in a way that makes it difficult to read. A flashlight and awkward bend of the neck is required to see the numbers.2. It's difficult to make fine adjustments to the dial. It's hard to know sometimes if the dial has moved when making small adjustments to dial in a grind.

Well Satisfied with This Grinder

After about 2 months use, I am well satisfied with this grinder. I have had none of the problems noted by some other users -- no (appreciable) mess while grinding into the supplied dosing cup, and easy transfer from the dosing cup to my portafilter by placing the portafilter over the dosing cup, inverting, and tapping the portafilter on the cabinet. I eliminated even the miniscule "dust" that escaped the dosing cup by switching to a wider dosing cup (from Weber). The one-star reviewer that said the grinder is not for espresso must have had a bad sample or burrs that were out of alignment, because I can grind very light roast arabica beans too fine for proper espresso dosing with this machine. The only complaint that might confirm, is that I don't find my grinder all that quiet, though I would also add that it is not the least objectionable. Maybe my other grinder is also "quiet," so I have nothing to compare it to. I knock my rating down one star because of the absence of any kind of dial or scale for noting the grinder settings, a problem I solved with an add-on mod sold through an Etsy Vendor, but, for $800+, I think Eureka could have easily added such a simple, effective an useful device.

I use, but seldom write, reviews. This is one review I felt compelled to offer. I just unpacked and used the grinder and am totally impressed. It was half the price of my Ceado unit, and is easy to adjust. I use a grinder for single dose espresso and would highly recommend it.

Game changer!!!

Super easy to dial in espresso. I jump between different beans and roasts with no problem and minimal waste. Really pleased with my purchase and the folks at Seattle Coffee Gear are super helpful!

Great grinder

Great single dose grinder. Super quiet and efficient, with a great design for ease of use and the bellow blows everything out clean. A little tricky to find true 0 when first setting up. Otherwise tons of adjustment capabilities and an all around great grinder. Super heavy and well built.

Wooden lid only flaw

The grinder is great, but the wooden lid would not fit without pressing it on so hard it feels like it could break the hopper, I know it's minor but this is an $800 grinder.

Consistent and Beautiful Espresso Grinder!

Have had this for about a year. It's been flawless. It takes a few doses to figure out where you need to be on the grind number but once you figure that part out - it's super consistent. Grind needs to be changed based on bean. Aside from the consistency piece..it's beautiful in appearance. I use this exclusively for espresso drinks. Highly recommend!

Great, High-Quality Espresso Grinder

Love this single-dose Eureka! Just like all Eurekas, this one is very sturdy and built well. I got the beautiful chrome version which looks great with my Rocket R Cinquantotto. It was calibrated almost precisely dialed into my current beans, which was a pleasant surprise, and the shots I am pulling taste amazing. From my using it, I would not recommend this grinder for switching between espresso and pour-over, but rather exclusively as an espresso grinder. Definitely a fingerprint magnet, but I just occasionally wipe it off, and it isn't a problem. The only negative I have would be that from the factory, it was missing the screw which holds the hopper in, which lets out a significant stream of the bellows air when using it. However, I chatted with SCG, and they immediately sent out a replacement hopper screw, so that isn't really an issue, either. If you're looking for a (better) alternative to the Niche with super fast, flat burrs, this Eureka Oro Mignon Single Dose is the one for you!

While not my most expensive grinder, it is my favorite.

I am baffled by the previous review. I have been using this grinder with both a Lelit Elizabeth Dual Boiler Espresso Machine and a La Marzocco GS3. The grind is superior to my previous Mazzer as well as many lesser grinders and close, in precision, to my Macap M6D. However, it is more reliable as it doesn't jamb on smaller sized beans. My experience is much different than the one star reviewer. Their machine either had to be faulty or it is operator error. This grinder is worthy of the most discerning tastes.

Don?t buy not for espresso

Avoid this grinder. It?s not for espresso. The grind distribution is poor and variable. It?s also not fine enough for espresso. Don?t bother with this grinder. I had to return mine.

What is the black horizontal port on the front of the grinder? Also what is the round button directly above it?

Max G.

Neither have any function. I think this is just the same part as other grinders from Eureka on which they may be used.

Will SSP unimodal burrs fit this machine?

Seattle Coffee Gear

No they won't. The "65mm" Eureka is actually 64mm. SSP 64mm is about 64.2mm or 64.1mm and neither size fits. You can check Lance Hedrick's video on this grinder at the 17:00 mark

Matthew M.

No. Eureka 65mm is actually 64mm, SSP 64mm will not fit as it's about 64.2mm. You can check Lance Hendrick's video about this grinder at about the 17:00 mark

Recommended for just espresso or would it work for coffee as well? Would like to cover both with a single grinder for the occasional pour over / cold brew.

Patrick C.

Hi there, This grinder is going to have trouble going coarse enough for cold brew. It could function for cold brew, but since it's a stepless adjustment you'd have to re-dial it every time you change the setting. I'd definitely only recommend it as a dedicated espresso grinder.

Does the Blow-Up bellows system need to be purchased separately? Or it come with the grinder?

Norman P.

It came with my grinder

Does the dosing cup fit neatly inside a 49 mm portafilter?
