Looks great on the countertop as long as you don't use it to heat water. Paint on the bottom start peeling after a few months of usage. Warranty only cover 30 days after purchase.
When I first received my Stagg stove-top kettle, I was excited as it functioned well and looked great too. However, after only a month I noticed the coating on the base was flaking off. I contacted Fellow about the issue and was blown off. They blamed the issue on me and said it was because I was leaving the kettle on a hot stove top without water in the kettle, which I have never done. They said it did not affect the functionality and offered me 25% off another one. This is a complete joke. I paid a premium for this product and expected it to function as a premium product. Fellow has since added the following to the product's description:"Please be aware that placing product on rough or unclean surfaces, as well as normal daily use on cooking ranges, will damage finish on bottom of kettle. This is normal wear and does not affect functionality."So basically using this product at all will result in damage to the finish. This is unacceptable and I would not waste my money on a product from a company that accepts quality failures on their end as normal.
Handle melted - twice - after being exposed to stove top heat. Fellow sent me a replacement handle the first time, as the kettle was under warranty. But now they won't even allow me to purchase a new one, telling me that it's not possible to replace a handle (which I know is categorically untrue). Tossing kettle in the trash this weekend....
Really like the temperature gauge on the lid. Easy to pour small amounts of water for pour-overs. I also use the kettle to get the right temps for tea.
I didn't keep it because it did not work on my new induction range.

No, they still have the gooseneck.
No they did notAlthough they have improved it since it’s original release They have a kettle that looks identical for tea that does not have a gooseneck that could be easily confused
