My daily grind. Great crema and wonderful over- and undertones that have me savoring every cup.
Balanced classic.
I loved the esspresso and worried that im going to run out. Will be ording from Olympia Coffee Roasting again. It dialed in perfect & loved the taste off the coffee very much so.
Unfortunately the beans were dry. It made an average cup of French press but was not strong enough for an espresso.
Not a fan. It was bitter for my taste. I prefer the Caffe Ladro espresso.
We love this one too...as per a previous review...we are former Portlanians experiencing expresso fomo on the East Coast. So glad to have a good resource for gear and bean.Big Truck is a good one...nice creamy smooth medium roast with depth. Will be buying more...
This was a very pleasant coffee bean used to make espresso shots. I would definitely order it again.
It’s good but if you like a bolder darker coffee this isn’t for you
This is a really nice espresso. Dialed in quickly and made a balanced cup. I will be buying again.
My wife and I love the flavor characteristics of big truck coffee. 1 of our go to beans
Purchased for granddaughter in Chattanooga TN. because there are no local roasters really familiar with the needs of an in home espresso aficionado. She is spoiled by the availability of the NW roasters, having lived here for a portion of her life. She loves her Big Truck and I have sent her the tri pack from Olympia Roasting to sample several other of their roasts. My wife and I have been espresso devotees since the early days of the original Starbucks shop in the Pike Place Market and have brewed with our own espresso machines for many, many years so we have a somewhat demanding palate when it comes to roasting.
Really enjoying this coffee. It makes flavorful lattes.
Great coffee. The chocolate note is very rich. One of the best espressos I have had in a long time.
I love Olympia Coffee Roasters and have been a customer since their founding, the owners are good people, and ethical business practice holds sway. ... but by the time I received the Big Truck, a month had passed since it was roasted. I found it absurd to purchase coffee in Seattle, from a roaster sixty miles away from a company in Seattle, to have the coffee shipped from Midwestern states - only to be delayed by misrouting, etc. I want to support OCR, and if you're local, you'd be better served buying it locally in person at the several spots it is sold. Next time I select a coffee from much farther away from Seattle. Cheers and happy brewing
Solid espresso. I drank it mostly as the foundation for double lattes, pulled through a Breville Barista Express. Chocloatey, with hints of marzipan and a nice crema. I'd get it again.
Did meet my expectations. Maybe it was over sold to me. Had a strong tobacco aftertaste and flat bitterness on the first sip.
Randomly bought and significantly enjoyed. It?s one of the first coffees that I could CLEARLY smell and taste exactly the same elements that the roaster commented on. Chocolate..Oh ya, Caramel.. DEFINITELY, Berries....FOR SURE!Really enjoyed it, was great as a latte and made my Mocha almost explode with flavor.
I love it! Monarch too. To be quite honest, since discovering you I've liked everything I have ordered.
Great coffee with chocolate flavor notes
Very uninteresting and dull flavor. Disappointing.
Finally received my coffee and it was worth the wait. I could definitely taste hints of chocolate and that’s always a good thing ??
This coffee's fruity blueberry notes are so prevalent that during the grinding process, they fill the the air. It is a nice bold taste. We enjoy it very much.
When I first tried it I liked it, but by the time I finished the bag I found the flavor boring. Maybe I went through it too slowly? (Roasted June 2, Arrived June 17, Finished Bag July 2). I tried it in plain espresso, latte and iced Americano (from most enjoyable to least enjoyable).
Our first attempt at brewing with fresh beans and this was one of three tried. It is delicious!
Definitely a good quality espresso however we found out that smoky flavors are not our first choice. It can be bitter and less creamy in our Breville Bambino Plus. We prefer sweeter, fruity flavors for this reason so will not get this again.
Based on the description, I was expecting a stronger and richer flavor, but it is lost in a latte or other milk based coffee.
I tried to enjoy it at first but it has an amount of acidity that I didn't like. Maybe I didn't know how to brew it correctly!
I liked it a lot. Nice flavor nothing bitter or harsh about it. I used it in a Saeco Incanto super automatic.
First time trying Big Truck Espresso . Hints of chocolate with full body .Very nice ! Would purchase again most definitely .Thanks SCG !
So I don't actually use this coffee for espresso but wanted to try it for experimenting with other brew methods (pour over, french press, aeropress), so I can't comment on the espresso flavor. I make it in my AeroPress fairly often however and I call it the "Jesus Coffee" because about halfway through the cup all of the fruit flavors come out and it practically tastes like red wine! I'm guessing from a combo of cooling down and drinking the more dense bottom half of the cup. The description says 'dense fruit' and it's definitely correct. I do prefer a more traditional coffee taste but I love this when I want to switch it up.
I find Big Truck has great flavor and is my personal favorite! It has some chocolate and yet no bitter aftertones.
Very smooth and flavorful
