Care and Maintenance

For detailed care instructions, please refer to your grinder's user manual. We recommend that you also incorporate the following into your cleaning routine:

  • Clean burrs on a weekly to bi-weekly basis, either with a cleaning brush or a burr grinder-specific cleaning product, such as Grindz.
  • Remove and hand wash bean hopper and lid with warm soap and water as needed

Rocky Hopper Upgrade

Restoring a non-functioning Rocky grinder that had been dropped, once the switch was fixed, the cosmetic damage to the bean hopper was next. This was an old unit that lacked the adjustable ring. The new hopper can be adjusted so that the 0 on the hopper can be aligned with the 0 setting on the burrs of the grinder. I might have preferred the smoky gray plastic to the blue, but it matches the original hopper and outlet spout. This was a functional upgrade as well as a cosmetic one. The now restored Rancilio Rocky is an upgrade to our other burr grinder. It has significantly improved the quality of every extraction from our workhorse Sylvia.

Excellent hopper

I replaced my old hopper with this one and it works great. Because it's adjustable, it makes dialing in the grind so much better. Highly recommend it.

What kind of plastic is this? Is it polycarbonate? Polycarbonate is manufactured with BPA.

Hi ZacBoth the Rancilio Rocky Hopper and doser tank doesn't come with the lid nor the screws. Those are separate parts and a separate purchase item. The screws you can always get from a hardware store.
