  • Easy Filter Options - Uses #4 filters, made accessible through the reusable Swiss Gold cone filter or disposable paper filters
  • Water Level - Made in the Netherlands, the Moccamaster KB741 measures its cup sizes a little bit (1.75 oz.) smaller than the US standard cup of coffee.

Best Coffee Machine

I already had a Technivorm that replaced a Bonavita which I put in my camper. The Bonavita is a good coffee maker but I do not like that the brew basket sits on the carafe, you can not see the water going into the coffee and you can"t stir it, and I like being able to just take the carafe and pour without messing with the brew basket. So I got another Technivorm for the camper. I ditch the brew basket that comes with it and replace it with a #3 Hario glass dripper, that way I don't have hot water leachng out xenoestrogens out of the plastic into the coffee and I can stir the coffee for more complete extraction. You could say I use this machine as a helper for a pour over. It also allows me to run a bit of water through the filter to wash it out which requires rotating the Hario to wet the entire filter. I basically use it as a pour over. I like a coffee machine that is simple to use and this is it, you put our coffee and water in and turn on the switch and that's it. I do not need a coffee machine with an LCD screen that says hello and enjoy your coffee, and I abhor one with a timer that brews coffee grounds that has been sitting in the machine over night becoming stale. This is the perfect coffee machine for a person like me who enjoys spending time making a good cup of coffee, and I don't mind a little mess. I roast my own coffee so I experiment with different roast levels and different coffee from all over the world and the Technivorm is a very good choice to turn that all those beans into a good cup of coffee. It's a bit expensive but of all the coffee makers that are approved by the SCAA this is the only one that fits my preferences. Years ago I used to rush off to work and grabbed a cup and dashed off to work, but for many years now I figure the work will still be there and I just take the time to brew and just sit drinking a cup or two and I don't care what time I get to the job. I guess brewing coffee is a bright spot in my day so I like to savor it, and I don't mind spending the time to do it. Also I could mention that the brew basket cover that comes with the Technivorm fits the Hario dripper perfectly, you only need to notch out the side to accommodate the Hario handle.

Best coffee maker I have ever had. I would definitely recommend and already have. There is nothing I dislike and everything I like about the Techni Vorm Clubline Moccamaster

So nice I've ordered twice

This is my second Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker I've owned. The last one (about ten years old or more) I donated to my relatives since they did not have a coffee maker. My prior Technivorm Moccamaster was the same model just in the all black color. The main difference is now this version has an auto-shutoff and the stainless color. These coffeemakers are built to last and my relatives even said they can't live without the one I provided for their daily coffee. The coffee maker is simple, well built and makes very consistent coffee. The one thing they could do better is a stronger carafe. I've broken a couple over the years but my relative broke two within a month. So if you aren't the careful type consider ordering a backup carafe or get one of the versions with the metal carafe. I tried one of those previously but there are tradeoffs like needing to prepare the carafe to keep your coffee hot since you no longer have a heated plate when you have a metal carafe model.

Item arrived as depicted on line. A marvelously simple system that mimics the service in a pour-over coffee bar. AND, the coffee is so much better than what was coming out of my 15 year old Cuisinart.

Best in world drip coffee ... prove me wrong!

I know everyone else said it ... but hey, I'm an old guy that has traveled world-wide (extensively in Europe) and have consumed a million cups of coffee, and nothing makes better drip coffee than these Moccamaster KB741 coffee makers. Ours is now 8 years old and got one refab ... only because we managed to drop an iron out of a cupboard onto the reservoir ... it only made a small crack that didn't leak, but hey, we love this machine so we gave it a new one!

Brews A Superb Cup of Coffee

I have spent a year researching coffee makers and finally chose this one due to the excellent reviews it got. Its size is not too large or too small and fits perfectly on my counter. It brews a superb cup of coffee even with inferior beans but with my favorite roaster's beans, it is perfection.I would highly recommend this brewer.

Technivorum Tower of Power

This is my fourth purchase of this style coffee maker from Technivorm, last one lasted 15 years or so. Only coffee maker to buy, for me. Seattle Coffee Gear delivered very quickly-2 days- and everything is perfect.

It tickles me....

I drink coffee every day and use either my old Chemex that I've had for 30 years, or my garden variety Cuisinart. The Cuisinart had seen better days and I wasn't sure if I could ever really get the interior clean, and so I started researching coffee makers with fewer plastic parts. This led me to the Technivorm.I spent quite some time learning about the different models and reading about the competitors like the Breville. Appreciated Gail and team's video reviews, and since it always seemed to come up "Technivorm by a nose," I decided to go in that direction.Ordering from SCG was a snap, and I went with the KB 741 for several reasons.1. I like the idea of being able to control the flow a little bit.2. I read that since the filter holder is round you can rotate it as the coffee brews if you want to saturate the grounds (since found out that makes no differene)3. I prefer the shape of the KB741 pot, I like the way the flare of the pot mirrors the flare of the filter holder. It just looks kind of 60s/70s retro and matches the feel of the rest of the machine. The KBG pot looks mismatched -- more of an 80's look.ExperienceGOODLook and feel and build quality is excellent. (I read concerns about quality in reviews but don't experience any of them)Doesn't look bigger than my old cuisinartIt's super cute, feels a little like a toy (in a GOOD way) it just feels fun.MAKES GREAT COFFEE FAST and quietly.I also like how all the replacement parts are easily available.Capacity is fine! Once the 10 cups go through, I fill the tank up to the top of the L and that little bit more totally fills the carafe. As a family of two who sip coffee all morning we've never run out.AND THE MEHNot a fan of the thick power cord and clunky plug, but I guess with the wattage it's appropriate. I hide the cord behind my toaster when it's not in use.Carafe, while cute, is a little thin and delicate feeling. No problems yet, but I did order a spare just in case. It pours really well. The outlet arm could drip over a wider area, I do stir the coffee a bit about a minute into the process. THE BADActually none. I tend to anthropomorphize objects and I have to say I just took a liking to the Technivorm, at first it just seemed a little delicate compared to my clunky old cuisinart but now it just feels like the coffeemaker I've always wanted: nice to look at, well-engineered, makes good coffee and just feels a little playful.Does it spark joy? Yes.

Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Brewer KB741

Exceptional coffeemaker. The feature to stop the dripping process to grab a cup is weak. Scheduled use of a descaling powder maintains this wonderful machine.

Very Happy

I've wanted a Technivorm for several years and finally decided to order one. I've had it for a week and am thrilled with my purchase. It is quiet, makes an amazing cup of coffee and a really nice looking machine. Thanks!

Worth every penny

The Techniworm is exactly what I was looking for in a new coffeemaker. It brews quickly producing a full, delicious cup of coffee. It is the best cup of drip brew I’ve ever made.

Great quality

Love the Technivorm Moccamaster. Easy to use and reliable brewing temp. Much higher quality than the Bonavita coffee maker. I have had both and prefer the Moccamaster by far. Nice design, quality construction, and consistent brewing!

Exceeds expectations

Still relatively new to me, but enjoying the Technivorm after a couple of weeks in use. Helpful is the slider switch on the side of the brew basket which can be moved for a few moments to closed or half-open while stirring/agitating the grinds to ensure thorough wetness of the coffee. This provides a quasi pour-over control. Also like the switch that alters the heat level on the warmer from full heat to a bit less heat. Makes a nice pot of coffee and a nice addition to my coffee prep arsenal which also includes a Rancilio Silvia with PID, Aeropress, and Nuova Simonelli grinder.

Very Nice - Use Good Coffee

Our coffee routine is in the process of a turnover. Our Jura Ena 3 grinder needs to be cleaned and I can't figure out how to get the grinder out. It made me so angry that I decided to make some changes so this is the first one. An easy way to make coffee on weekday mornings. I also ordered a new grinder which I haven't opened yet because we're going on a vacation and I don't have time. This coffee maker requires good beans. The coffee we have on hand tasted good in the Cuisinart we borrowed from our son but not as good in this maker. This brews a full pot (40 ounces) in 6 minutes so there's no need for us to use the brew stop. I don't find the handle to be flimsy as others have noted so they must have changed that. It comes with a scoop and three filters to get you started and takes a #4 paper filter. So far so good.

Fast brew, but

When I purchased this it was a staff pick for some reason it is not now. The water warms quickly to hot. Makes as good a cup of coffee as any establishment. However the warming plate light did not work right out of the box. The brew stop must be in the right place and checked before each use, it is sensitive and care must be taken to get the right setting. If you brew 10 cups, the plastic handle on the glass carafe is flimsy under the weight and burned knuckles can result. Because of these quirks I am the only one that uses this drip coffee maker. My wife looks forward to weekends because the coffee it makes is that good.

This is a GREAT coffeemaker

I have had my moccamaster for 5 yrs. I absolutely love this well made coffee maker~ I have the glass carafe model which I would most definitely recommend. I like this brand so much I have considered ordering an extra one to have on hand for fear that this one should wear out. I will always own this coffeemaker. Technivorm you have a superb product. Seattle Coffee Gear is the only place I would purchase this ~ they are kind~ efficient~very knowledgable regarding their products.

Consistently Delicious Coffee Every Time

I like good coffee (after years of bad Army coffee) and I have never made good pot--only adequate. With coffee shop prices going up, I decided to listen to all the reviewers (professional and every-man) and purchase a Technivorm Moccamaster KB-741 from Seattle Coffee Gear. My review has two parts: the seller and the machine. 1st: I'm glad a cruised the internet a bit to find Seattle Coffee Gear. Although the cost of the KB-741 was the same as other dealers, SCG added an incentive of coffee, filters, and a care kit making it a very good value all told. Also, it arrived quickly and in perfect condition 2nd: The KB-741 is a great coffee brewer. I had to "practice" for about a week, but now have the right coffee-to-cups ratio for my taste. Best features: the ability to select full drip, slower for partial pot, or off (to take a cup before brewing is complete); the glass carafe is easy to clean, and the hot plate never scorches the coffee. The sleek design fits under cabinets and the footprint is reasonable. Highly recommend this brewer!

Over all Awesome

As in some of the other reviews I was a bit hesitant to buy this machine because of the price, but after a lot of research and reading reviews on this, and other sites we took the plunge. Results - AWESOME Coffee !!!!!! Now it does brew to the European cup and not the US, "big cup"... but its worth it, and hey if you drink it all, brew more, it brews fast and hot. As for taste, you won't beat it, Furthermore the coffee maker is straight forward and durable. For true coffee lovers you can't go wrong.

Outstanding Coffee - Worth the Price

I first purchased the KBG741 (Black) for my father last year after researching the best drip coffeemakers. The Cooks Illustrated magazine review in 2013 (April, I think) clued me into the wonders of the Technivorm machine. After visiting my parents and tasting how fantastic their coffee was, my husband and I caved and purchased the older KB741 (silver) with manual drip-stop in early January. We absolutely love it so far. The only downside I can see to purchasing one of these machines is its initial cost. But, given the outstanding quality of the coffee brewed and the likelihood this machine will last many years longer than other cheaper machines, I say don't hesitate to buy it now. Life's too short to drink poor quality coffee! Also, I'm very happy with Seattle Coffee Gear's service. I don't think you can beat their prices plus they give a 10% discount if you join their email list before you place your order, they send $70 worth of coffee supplies free with your order, and send you a $20 gift certificate after the purchase. Sweet deal!

Cannot be serviced in the USA!

Do not purchase the Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Brewer. This is a well-built product and internal parts can be easily replaced but no repairs or internal replacement parts are available in the USA. When the warranty is out you are expected to throw it away and purchase a new one. Disposal is a big environmental problem with this product.

What a Difference

I never thought a coffee maker could make such a difference n the taste of coffee. Add in the Breville Smart Grinder and you have the perfect combination... I can never get coffee any better than what I can brew at home...Pay the money. You will be thanking yourself for many years to come.

Excellent all around

I was reluctant to try the machine because of the price, but after seeing the review given by America's Test Kitchen, I decided to throw my money into the wind. I have had many coffee machines throughout my 52 years of life--my mom got me hooked at age seven--and was cynical about how long this one would last. I purchased the machine in May of 2008 and am still using it today. While I understand many are unhappy about the amount of coffee it brews, I am the only drinker in the house, so that is not a concern for me. Not only is the taste of the coffee brewed still top notch after 4 1/2 years, but the durability of the machine is why I recommend the brand to anyone who ever inquires.

Excellent

This is an excellent brewer. I have tried 3 different beans and there simply is no bitter taste to the coffee like lesser brewers. It is a bit confusing to select the unit that is best for you because of the number of models with similar id's. A bit confusing to select. I would go with the glass carafe otherwise you need to preheat the metal carafe.
