Seattle's about to have its moment. Six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches are coming to Lumen Field (officially "Seattle Stadium" for the tournament, per FIFA's neutral-naming rules) between June and July, and if you're one of the thousands of fans making the trip, you're going to need really good coffee to survive the jet lag, the walking, and the pre-match nerves.

Good news: you're coming to the right city. We've got more coffee shops per capita than we know what to do with, and the ones near the World Cup action happen to be some of the best in town. Here are three spots we'd send any visiting fan to, whether you're marching to the match from Pioneer Square or wandering Pike Place before kickoff.

Gloom Coffee — Steps from the Stadium

Where: Pioneer Square, walking distance from Lumen Field - Directions

If you're doing the traditional "March to the Match" from Pioneer Square, Gloom Coffee needs to be your first stop. It's a coffee roaster and bar tucked into the neighborhood's historic brick blocks, close enough to the stadium that you can grab a cup and still make it to your seat with time to spare.

Gloom roasts its own beans on-site and leans into a playful, slightly moody brand (the name says it all) that fits right in with Seattle's famous grey-sky mornings. Expect quality espresso drinks and a laid-back vibe that's perfect for a pre-match huddle with your crew.

Pro Tip: Pioneer Square gets packed on matchday, especially before kickoffs at Lumen Field. Get there early, grab your coffee, and enjoy the walk over. And hey, if you want to bring a little of that same energy home with you, our espresso machines and grinders can help you recreate that pre-match ritual back home.

Boon Boona Coffee — Pike Place, with a View

Where: Overlook Walk, at the edge of Pike Place Market - Directions

A short trip up from the market's waterfront connector, Boon Boona Coffee's newest café sits right on the Overlook Walk, the pedestrian bridge linking Pike Place to Seattle's revamped waterfront. Translation: you get panoramic Puget Sound views with your latte, which is not a bad way to start a World Cup match day.

Boon Boona sources exclusively African coffees and has built a genuine community hub here in Seattle, growing from its original Renton roots into one of the city's most-loved names in coffee. It's an easy add to any Pike Place stroll, and honestly worth the trip even if you weren't already headed that way.

Pro Tip: Between the crowds at Pike Place and match day foot traffic downtown, mornings are your best bet for a shorter line. If the visit gets you fired up about brewing exceptional coffee yourself, take a look at our pour-over and brewing gear to bring some of that specialty-coffee magic home.

Olympia Coffee — Downtown, Near Westlake

Where: Downtown Seattle, near Westlake Center - Directions

Just a few blocks from Westlake, Olympia Coffee's downtown Seattle café is an easy stop if you're staying near the retail core or connecting through Westlake on the light rail on your way to Lumen Field. Olympia has been a fixture of Pacific Northwest specialty coffee for years, known for direct-trade sourcing and a menu built entirely around its own roasts.

It's a great choice if you want a quieter moment before the chaos of matchday, or if you're just passing through downtown between sightseeing and stadium.

Pro Tip: Downtown Seattle is one of the most transit-friendly stretches of the whole tournament. Grab your coffee, hop on the Link Light Rail, and you'll be at Stadium Station in a few stops flat. Falling in love with Olympia's roasts? Check out our home coffee grinders so you can dial in beans just like theirs at home.
