Technivorm Moccamaster Cup-One Coffee Maker

The Cup-One is Moccamaster's single-serve brewer — it makes one 10oz cup of coffee at a time using a standard paper filter (no pods). Place on a level surface. The removable cup holder slides out from the base to accommodate mugs of different heights. Place your cup in the holder under the brew basket.

Fill the water reservoir with exactly the volume you want to brew — the Cup-One has no carafe, so water volume equals your cup size. Add a #4 cone filter and enough medium-ground coffee for a 10oz cup (approximately 15–18g depending on your strength preference). Plug in and flip the on/off switch.

The Cup-One uses the same thermoblock technology as the full-size Moccamaster — it heats water to 196–205°F for Gold Cup-quality extraction in a single-serve format. No pods, no waste — just freshly ground coffee in your cup.

Single-Serve Brewing

Dose for a single 10oz cup: approximately 15–18g of medium-ground coffee. The Cup-One's basket holds a full #4 cone filter — do not overfill beyond the filter capacity. Use the same medium grind as for a full Moccamaster (similar to coarse sea salt).

Removable Cup Holder

Slide the cup holder out to accommodate taller travel mugs or insulated cups. The holder adjusts for cup heights up to approximately 5 inches. Ensure your cup is positioned directly under the brew basket outlet before brewing.

Brewing Faster Doubles

To brew a second cup immediately after the first, empty the water reservoir, refill with water for one cup, add a fresh filter and coffee, and brew again. The thermoblock reheats quickly — a second cup is typically ready within 3–4 minutes.

After Each Use

Discard the filter and grounds. Rinse the brew basket with warm water. Wipe the exterior and spout area. Rinse the removable cup holder.

Monthly — Descaling

Descale every 2–3 months. Use a citric acid solution (1 tsp per 10oz of water). Run a full brew cycle without coffee, then follow with 2–3 cycles of clean water.

Coffee Spilling or Overflowing

The Cup-One's basket is sized for one standard #4 filter. Do not overfill with coffee grounds — overfilling slows drainage and can cause overflow. Use a maximum of 18–20g of medium-ground coffee per cycle.

Cup Not Filling to Expected Volume

The reservoir volume equals the approximate brewed volume — some water is absorbed by the grounds (approximately 1–2oz). Fill the reservoir to slightly above your target cup volume.
