What's In The Box
DeLonghi Dedica Maestro Plus (EC950M) espresso machine, 54mm stainless steel portafilter, Single-wall filter baskets (1 cup & 2 cup), Dual-wall filter baskets (1 cup & 2 cup), Water filter holder with DeLonghi DLSC002 water filter, Stainless steel tamper, Milk jug, Power cord.

Setup & First Use

Before first use, remove all packaging. Install the water filter: soak the DLSC002 filter for 1 minute, rinse, and seat in the water tank. Fill the 1.5L removable water tank with cold, fresh water. Wash the portafilter, filter baskets, and milk jug with warm water and mild soap.

The Dedica Maestro Plus is a slim espresso machine (approximately 6 inches wide) designed for compact countertops. It uses thermoblock heating for fast heat-up and PID temperature control for stable brew temperature. It includes an automatic Lattissima-style milk frothing wand that connects to a milk container and froths automatically.

Plug in and power on. Run an initial flush — place a container under the portafilter, insert an empty portafilter, and press the single-shot button to run water through the system. Discard the flush water before brewing with coffee.

Tutorials & Training

Pulling Espresso

Fill the single-wall basket with freshly ground espresso-fine coffee. Tamp firmly with the included stainless tamper. Lock the portafilter into the group head. Select single or double shot — the machine extracts a preset volumetric amount and stops automatically. Volumes are programmable: press and hold the shot button during extraction to save a new volume at the moment you release.

Automatic Milk Frothing

The Dedica Maestro Plus features an automatic frothing system. Connect the milk container, fill with cold milk between the MIN and MAX lines, and select your milk texture level before pressing the steam button. The machine froths milk automatically to your selected froth density. Rinse the milk tube and container after each use — milk residue blocks the system quickly.

Single vs. Dual Wall Baskets

Use single-wall baskets with freshly ground beans and a quality grinder for best results — they offer full control and reward precise technique. Use dual-wall (pressurized) baskets with pre-ground coffee or while dialing in a new bean — they are more forgiving of grind variation.

Active Temperature Control

Brew temperature is adjustable via the settings menu (3 levels: standard, low, high). Use lower temperature for lighter roasts and higher for darker roasts. Allow a brief heat-up after changing temperature before pulling the next shot.

Cleaning & Maintenance

After Each Use

Remove and rinse the portafilter basket. Wipe the group head gasket. Run the automatic milk tube clean cycle from the menu after every milk session. Rinse the milk container with warm water.

Weekly

Run the machine's cleaning cycle with a DeLonghi cleaning tablet. Remove and rinse the drip tray and grounds container.

Water Filter

Replace the DLSC002 filter every 2–3 months or when prompted.

Descaling

Descale when prompted using DeLonghi EcoDecalk. Follow on-machine instructions completely.

Troubleshooting

No Coffee Flow

Grind too fine, portafilter not locked, or water tank empty. Check all three. With single-wall baskets, an overly fine grind or excessive tamp pressure will stop flow completely — back off grind by 1–2 steps.

Milk System Not Frothing

Disconnect and inspect the milk tube for blockage. Rinse thoroughly. Ensure cold milk is used — room-temperature or warm milk does not froth as effectively and can coat the tube more quickly.
