Pulling an Espresso Shot
Fill the appropriate basket with finely ground coffee. Do not use too-coarse a grind — the pressurized baskets work best with a medium-fine espresso grind. Tamp lightly and evenly using the included scoop/tamper. Lock the portafilter into the group head with a firm clockwise turn. Press the single-shot or double-shot button. The machine doses a preset volume and stops automatically.
Programmable Shot Volumes
Shot volumes are programmable. To set: with the machine ready, press and hold the single or double shot button. The machine begins extracting. Release the button when your desired volume is in the cup — the machine saves this volume and will stop there automatically on future shots. You can press the button again to override and stop early at any time.
Cappuccino System — Frothing Milk
The Cappuccino System wand adjusts between a steam/hot-water mode and a froth mode using the wand dial. Fill a frothing pitcher with cold milk to just below the spout. Purge the wand for 2–3 seconds before inserting into the milk. For foam, set the dial toward the froth position and submerge the tip near the milk surface. For steamed milk (latte), set toward the steam position and submerge the tip slightly deeper. Heat to 140–150°F, then close the dial and wipe the wand immediately.
Adjustable Drip Tray
The removable drip tray insert can be lifted out to create clearance for taller mugs — up to 13cm. Remove the insert before placing a tall mug under the portafilter spouts.
Pressure Gauge
The pressure gauge shows extraction pressure during the shot. The ideal range is marked on the gauge — consistent pressure in that zone indicates correct dosing, tamping, and grind. Too low (under-extraction): increase grind fineness or dose. Too high (over-extraction): coarsen grind or reduce dose.
