LELIT Anita Espresso Machine

LELIT Anita Espresso Machine

Looking for an Italian-made machine, but don't quite have the space for a separate grinder? The LELIT Anita Espresso Machine is just what you need. Built from the base of the LELIT Anna, the Anita adds a compact conical burr grinder to its all-steel design. A PID-equipped single boiler setup handles brewing and steaming, while the stepless grind adjust and manual portafilter dosing takes care of grinding. The Anita rounds out its design with a LELIT57 group design, built-in pressure gauge, and articulated steam wand.

What's In The Box
LELIT Anita espresso machine with integrated grinder, 57mm double portafilter (with handle), Single portafilter basket, Double portafilter basket, Blind basket, Tamper, Coffee scoop, Water softener filter, Instruction manual, Power cord. Note: 57mm LELIT57 group and built-in 38mm steel conical burr grinder. No LCC — manual controls only.

Setup & First Use

Place the Anita on a level surface with adequate counter space — it is slightly wider than the Anna to accommodate the integrated grinder. Fill the water tank with cold filtered water. Install the water softener filter.

The Anita combines the Anna's single-boiler PID espresso machine with an integrated 38mm steel conical burr grinder and manual portafilter-actuated dosing. Load whole beans into the hopper. Adjust grind fineness using the stepless collar around the grinder. Use the portafilter plate to actuate dosing — insert the portafilter and push up to grind; release to stop.

Like the Anna, the Anita uses a 57mm LELIT57 group head. Brewing is controlled by analog toggle switches. Warm up fully (15–20 minutes) before pulling shots.

Tutorials & Training

Integrated Grinder Workflow

Load beans into the top-loading hopper. Set your grind fineness using the stepless collar — starting point: finer than drip, targeting a 25–35 second double shot extraction. Dose directly into the portafilter: insert portafilter in the grinder fork and push up to start grinding. Release when your dose is reached (aim for 18g for a double). Tamp firmly and level. Lock portafilter into the group and brew.

Stepless Grind Adjustment

Adjust the grind collar only while the grinder is running. Small adjustments have significant impact — move in tiny increments and pull a test shot before adjusting again. Finer grind (clockwise) slows the shot; coarser (counterclockwise) speeds it up.

PID and Temperature

Same as Anna: access PID settings on startup to set brew temperature. 93°C is a good starting point. The Anita's small boiler recovers quickly between shots — a useful feature when brewing milk drinks for multiple people.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

After each session, purge the steam wand briefly and wipe it down. Remove the portafilter, knock out the puck, and rinse the 57mm basket under warm water. Wipe the group head area and drip tray.

Weekly Cleaning

Remove the shower screen and soak it in warm espresso cleaner solution. Clean the portafilter basket and wand tip thoroughly. Note: The Anita does not have a 3-way solenoid valve, so backflushing is not possible — focus on thorough daily rinsing and weekly screen soaking.

Ongoing Maintenance

Use soft, filtered water in the reservoir to minimize mineral buildup. Replace the water softener filter per the LELIT user manual schedule. Have a qualified technician perform an annual inspection if used daily.

Troubleshooting

Shots Running Too Fast

Grind finer. Increase dose slightly. If you're new to the machine, allow 20+ minutes warmup time — a cold boiler causes inconsistent extraction temperatures that appear as fast shots.

Shots Running Too Slow / No Flow

Grind coarser. Dose may be too high — reduce by 0.5–1g. Check for scale buildup in the group head shower screen.

Steam Pressure Weak

Allow full warmup time for the steam boiler (10–20 minutes). Check the steam wand tip for blockage — clear with a pin if clogged. On single-boiler machines, switch to steam mode and wait for the boiler to reach steam temperature (typically 5–10 minutes after espresso brewing).

LCC Not Responding

Power cycle the machine. If the LCC display is unresponsive after restart, check all connections and consult the instruction manual for LCC reset procedures.
