This single boiler machine comes equipped with a PID for fast, accurate temperature management. What's In The Box
LELIT Anna espresso machine, 57mm double portafilter (with handle), Single portafilter basket, Double portafilter basket, Blind basket, Tamper, Coffee scoop, Water softener filter, Instruction manual, Power cord. Note: The Anna uses a 57mm (LELIT57) group — use 57mm baskets and accessories.

Setup & First Use

Place the Anna on a level, water-resistant surface. Allow at least 25cm clearance at the rear for the water tank and steam wand. Fill the removable water tank with fresh, cold filtered water and reinsert. Install the water softener filter in the tank.

Before first use, flush water through the group head and steam wand for 30 seconds each to rinse internal components. Allow the machine to heat up fully before pulling a shot — 15–20 minutes at minimum. The PID display shows current boiler temperature.

The Anna uses LELIT's 57mm group head (LELIT57) — slightly smaller than the industry-standard 58mm. Use 57mm baskets and accessories. The included single (7g) and double (14g) baskets and blind basket cover all standard use cases.

Brewing is controlled via the front analog toggle switches: flip to brew to start the pump, flip back to stop. There is no LCC programmability on the Anna — it is the most manual of the LELIT home machines.

Tutorials & Training

PID Temperature Control

Access the PID settings by holding the brew switch on startup to enter the programming mode. Set your brew temperature — for espresso, 93°C (199°F) is a standard starting point. Lighter roasts may benefit from higher temperatures (94–96°C); darker roasts from lower (90–92°C). The PID holds boiler temperature to within ±1°C of your set point.

Dialing In Espresso

Start with a double shot: 18g in, target 36–40g out in 25–35 seconds. Adjust grind fine/coarse to hit this target. The Anna's small 57mm group gives clean, direct espresso with less thermal mass than larger machines — allow a full warmup before judging extraction.

Steam Wand

Flip to steam mode after pulling your shot and wait for the boiler to reach steam temperature (watch the pressure gauge — steam at 0.9–1.1 bar). Purge the wand briefly before submerging in milk. For microfoam, keep the tip near the milk surface; for stiffer cappuccino foam, submerge deeper. Wipe immediately after steaming.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

After each session, purge the steam wand briefly and wipe it down. Remove the portafilter, knock out the puck, and rinse the 57mm basket under warm water. Wipe the group head area and drip tray.

Weekly Cleaning

Remove the shower screen and soak it in warm espresso cleaner solution. Clean the portafilter basket and wand tip thoroughly. Note: The Anna does not have a 3-way solenoid valve, so backflushing is not possible — focus on thorough daily rinsing and weekly screen soaking.

Ongoing Maintenance

Use soft, filtered water in the reservoir to minimize mineral buildup. Replace the water softener filter per the LELIT user manual schedule. Have a qualified technician perform an annual inspection if used daily.

Troubleshooting

Shots Running Too Fast

Grind finer. Increase dose slightly. If you're new to the machine, allow 20+ minutes warmup time — a cold boiler causes inconsistent extraction temperatures that appear as fast shots.

Shots Running Too Slow / No Flow

Grind coarser. Dose may be too high — reduce by 0.5–1g. Check for scale buildup in the group head shower screen.

Steam Pressure Weak

Allow full warmup time for the steam boiler (10–20 minutes). Check the steam wand tip for blockage — clear with a pin if clogged. On single-boiler machines, switch to steam mode and wait for the boiler to reach steam temperature (typically 5–10 minutes after espresso brewing).

LCC Not Responding

Power cycle the machine. If the LCC display is unresponsive after restart, check all connections and consult the instruction manual for LCC reset procedures.
