Setup & First Use

Overview

The Fausto Touch upgrades the classic Fausto design with a 65mm burrset and a top-mounted touchscreen for precise dose control. The larger burrs grind a double shot in approximately 5.5 seconds — significantly faster than the Faustino 3.1.

Grind Adjustment

Adjust grind size using the stepless micrometric knob. Turn clockwise to go finer. For espresso, start at the midpoint and adjust finer until shots run in your target extraction window.

Touchscreen Dose Programming

The top-mounted touchscreen provides access to 3 programmable dose presets plus a continuous grinding mode. Set grind time in 0.05-second increments — this level of precision allows very accurate dosing by time.

Shot Counter

The touchscreen tracks your shot count. This is useful for grinder maintenance scheduling — note when to clean burrs and replace them based on cumulative use.

Tutorials & Training

65mm Burr Advantage

The 65mm flat burrs grind faster and with more surface area than the 50mm burrset in the Faustino, producing consistent particle distribution at higher throughput. This benefits both single-dose workflows and hopper-loaded operation.

0.05-Second Increment Precision

Precise time-based dosing means you can dial in to within a fraction of a gram. Weigh your output and adjust the programmed time in small increments until you hit your target dose weight consistently.

Adjusting Grind vs. Adjusting Time

When your shot time changes (because you changed beans or the weather shifted), adjust grind size first — don't compensate by changing the timed dose. Your dose weight should remain constant; your shot time should change with grind adjustments.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular Burr Cleaning

The 65mm burrset processes more coffee per minute and benefits from weekly brushing. Use the included brush or a grinder cleaner product monthly for a thorough purge.

Touchscreen Maintenance

Wipe the touchscreen with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using cleaning liquids directly on the screen. Coffee grounds or moisture can interfere with touch sensitivity.

Hopper Cleaning

Remove and hand wash the hopper regularly. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling to prevent moisture from entering the grinder.

Troubleshooting

Touchscreen Not Responding

Clean the screen surface and try again. A power cycle (unplug and replug) usually resolves freezes. Persistent unresponsiveness requires service.

Dose Drifting Heavier or Lighter Over Time

Dose drift can occur as burrs season or as beans change. Re-weigh your output and update the timed preset. Also clean the burr chamber — packed grounds can partially block the chute and affect output weight.

Grinder Louder Than Expected

Some noise is normal. The sound-insulated case significantly reduces grinding noise. If grinding becomes distinctly louder, check for a foreign object in the bean path or inspect burrs for damage.
