65mm Commercial-Grade Burrs in a Home Footprint

The Atom 65 brings the same 65mm flat burrset used in Eureka's commercial Zenith grinders into a counter-friendly 6x9 inch footprint. The short hopper configuration (compared to the full-size Atom) gives a lower overall height ideal for kitchen counter clearance. The 65mm burrs grind approximately 18g in about 5.5 seconds at espresso settings.

Grind Adjustment

The Atom 65 uses Eureka's stepless bottom-burr knurled knob, located below the motor. This is the same system as the Mignon line—adjustment preserves calibration through cleaning. Turn clockwise for finer, counter-clockwise for coarser. Always adjust while the grinder is running.

Color Screen and Controls

The Atom 65 features a color touchscreen displaying single dose (Dose 1), double dose (Dose 2), and a manual center button. Program doses by pressing and holding the desired button while grinding to your target weight, then releasing.

Programming Single and Double Doses

Press and hold Dose 1 or Dose 2 on the color screen. Grind into a portafilter on a scale until you reach your target weight. Release to save. The Atom 65's 65mm burrs grind fast—an 18g double takes roughly 5.5 seconds, so be ready to release quickly.

Using the ACE Anti-Clumping Chute

Eureka's ACE (Anti-Clumps & Electrostaticity) grind chute helps keep grounds fluffy and static-free. The chute's geometry aerates grounds as they exit, reducing clumping. Grounds should flow freely into your portafilter basket with minimal static cling.

Upgrading Burrs

The Atom 65's 65mm burrset can be upgraded to titanium or RedSpeed (titanium-nitride coated) versions for longer burr life and improved sharpness retention. Contact Seattle Coffee Gear for upgrade options.

Eureka's bottom-burr adjust system moves only the lower burr, preserving your grind setting even when you disassemble the grinder for cleaning.

Daily Cleaning

Brush the grind chute and portafilter fork area after each session. Wipe the color screen with a soft, dry cloth. The sound-insulated ACE chute reduces grounds scatter but may need clearing of built-up oils at the chute exit.

Burr Cleaning

Run Eureka Grindz or equivalent cleaner tablets through the Atom monthly or every 5–8 pounds of coffee. The bottom-burr adjust means you can remove the top burr for cleaning without losing your calibrated grind setting. Rerun with coffee beans after tablets to clear any cleaner residue.

Shots Running Very Fast Even at Finest Setting

If the finest available setting still produces shots under 20 seconds, the grind range may need recalibration to shift finer. This involves adjusting the upper burr carrier position—consult the Atom 65 user manual or contact Seattle Coffee Gear for guidance.

Color Screen Unresponsive

Power off the grinder, unplug for 30 seconds, and restart. Persistent screen issues require warranty service.
