Eureka Mignon Crono Brew Coffee Grinder

Eureka Mignon Crono Brew Coffee Grinder

Get great grinds with the Eureka Mignon Crono Brew Coffee Grinder. Built on the same Mignon platform as the entry-level Filtro, the Mignon Crono expands on the former's coffee grinding prowess with a discrete timer for one touch grinding. Simply find your ideal pour over or drip coffee grind setting, time how long your dose takes, and set the side-mounted timer knob to match. Each Crono is built in sturdy metal, with hardened 50mm steel burrs and a brew-specific grind path for clump-free dosing. Finished with a 5.5-ounce hopper and grounds bin to match, the Crono makes for a standout addition to your kitchen.

What's In The Box
Your Eureka Mignon Crono includes: Grinder unit, 5.5oz/157g smoked round bean hopper with lid, matching smoked grounds catch bin, cleaning brush, and power cord. The Crono adds a side-mounted timer dial to the Filtro's feature set for easier batch brewing.

Setup & First Use

Brew Method Range

Like the Filtro, the Crono is designed for filter brew methods: drip coffee, pour over, AeroPress, French press, and cold brew. The Crono adds a side-mounted timer potentiometer for set-and-forget grinding. The 50mm flat burrs are optimized for brew-range consistency.

Initial Setup

Attach the smoked hopper and place the matching smoked grounds catch bin below the chute. The Crono's 5-inch wide footprint is the same as other Mignons—compact for a filter grinder.

Timer Setup

The side-mounted timer dial is labeled with reference marks but has a wide range (approximately 5–60 seconds). Find your grind time: manually press-and-grind your dose while timing it, then set the dial to that position. The Crono's timer has clearly labeled numbers that help you return to a known setting between sessions.

Tutorials & Training

One-Touch Timed Grinding

After setting the timer dial to your dose time, press the activation switch once to start a timed grind cycle. The Crono grinds for the set duration and stops automatically—no need to hold the switch. This is the primary workflow improvement over the Filtro.

Adjusting Timer for Brew Method

Different methods require different doses: pour over (20g) will require less time than a French press batch (30–40g). Set the timer for your primary method, and adjust the knob for different methods as needed. The labeled dial makes returning to a saved setting straightforward.

Using the Smoked Grounds Bin

The Crono's smoked hopper and grounds bin are matched for a unified aesthetic. Use the bin for batch grinding, then pour grounds into your brewer's filter or press carafe. The bin capacity is sized for 6–8 cup drip batches.

Eureka's bottom-burr adjust system moves only the lower burr, preserving your grind setting even when you disassemble the grinder for cleaning.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

Brush the chute and empty the grounds bin after each use. The smoked plastic components can be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not soak plastic parts—rinse and dry completely before reinstalling.

Burr Cleaning

Remove the top burr for periodic cleaning (grind setting preserved). Run cleaning tablets monthly for brew-use grinders—coffee oils from filter brewing accumulate just as they do for espresso.

Troubleshooting

Timer Dose Varies Between Sessions

Bean density and roast level affect how much coffee grinds in a given time. Verify your timer setting when switching to a different coffee. Darker roasts are typically lighter and grind faster than denser light roasts for the same dose weight.
