Instead of focusing on speed, (though it's quite fast) consistency, (though it has fantastic espresso distribution) or ease of use (though it is, in fact, easy) Eureka has shifted focus into making a truly quiet grinder. This is the grinder for a house of light sleepers, apartment complexes or romantic cafés. Short of a hand grinder or a hiding place in the garage, you'll be hard-pressed to find a quieter espresso grinder on the market. This marked dedication to sound insulation pairs with fine stepless grind controls, time-based dosing and an easy-cleaning design shared with other Eureka-designed grinders.

What's In The Box
Your Eureka Atom Espresso Grinder includes: Grinder unit, bean hopper with lid, portafilter fork, cleaning brush, and power cord. The Atom features Eureka's 60mm flat steel burrs with sound isolation, ACE anti-static chute, and color screen controls.

Setup & First Use

60mm Flat Burrs and Performance

The base Atom espresso grinder features 60mm flat hardened steel burrs—between the Mignon line (55mm) and the Atom 65 (65mm). The Atom's combination of silent grinding, ACE chute, and color screen controls make it a capable prosumer espresso grinder for daily home use.

Grind Adjustment

The Atom uses Eureka's stepless bottom-burr adjust knob below the motor. Adjust while the grinder is running. The wide stepless range covers fine espresso through lighter filter settings.

Color Screen

The color touchscreen provides Dose 1, Dose 2, and manual grinding modes. Programming is identical to the Atom 65: press and hold the dose button while grinding to target weight, release to save.

Tutorials & Training

Programming Timed Doses

Press and hold Dose 1 or Dose 2 on the color screen. Grind to your target dose weight, then release to save. With 60mm burrs, grinding speed is between the Specialita and Atom 65.

ACE Chute Benefits

The ACE anti-static and anti-clumping chute produces fluffy, evenly distributed grounds. Fewer clumps means more even tamping and more consistent espresso extraction.

Eureka's bottom-burr adjust system moves only the lower burr, preserving your grind setting even when you disassemble the grinder for cleaning.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

Brush the grind chute and portafilter fork area after each session. Wipe the color screen with a soft, dry cloth. The sound-insulated ACE chute reduces grounds scatter but may need clearing of built-up oils at the chute exit.

Burr Cleaning

Run Eureka Grindz or equivalent cleaner tablets through the Atom monthly or every 5–8 pounds of coffee. The bottom-burr adjust means you can remove the top burr for cleaning without losing your calibrated grind setting. Rerun with coffee beans after tablets to clear any cleaner residue.

Troubleshooting

Common Grind Issues

Shots too fast: adjust finer. Shots too slow: adjust coarser. Always adjust while the grinder is running. If the full grind range has been reached without achieving target extraction time, the burr carrier position may need resetting—contact Seattle Coffee Gear.
