Eureka Mignon Zero Espresso Grinder

Eureka Mignon Zero Espresso Grinder

Traditional Italian design and refinement meets modern espresso in the budget-friendly Eureka Mignon Zero Espresso Grinder. Designed for a meticulous single dosing workflow, the Zero features low retention thanks to its bellows hopper. The Zero’s 55mm Eureka espresso burrs create fluffy, uniform grounds resulting in full flavored espresso with fantastic clarity. Measure the dose and catch the grinds with the included dosing cup, then easily transfer them to the portafilter with a simple flip. With a 45g capacity, the hopper and dosing cup can even handle the occasional pour over brew method with a single grind. Make your morning routine even more meticulous with the Eureka Mignon Zero Espresso Grinder.

What's In The Box
Your Eureka Mignon Zero includes: Grinder unit, 45g single-dose bellows hopper with clear lid and vented shutter, stainless steel 58mm dosing cup, portafilter fork, cleaning brush, and power cord. The Zero is designed exclusively for single-dose grinding workflows.

Setup & First Use

Single-Dose Workflow

The Mignon Zero is purpose-built for single dosing—grinding only the exact amount of coffee you need per session, fresh each time. The 45g bellows hopper holds a single dose and the rubber bellows is squeezed after grinding to push all remaining grounds through the burr chamber, achieving under 0.2g retention.

Initial Setup

Attach the bellows hopper and portafilter fork. Familiarize yourself with the hopper's vented shutter—a small lever that opens and closes the bean feed to the burrs. Close the shutter when loading beans to prevent them from falling into the burrs immediately. Attach the blow-up bellows lid.

Grind Adjustment

Use the extra-comfort large stepless micrometric adjustment knob for precise grind control. The Zero's stepless system spans multiple revolutions for fine resolution. As with all Mignons, the bottom burr adjusts, so cleaning doesn't reset your setting. Adjust while the grinder is running.

Tutorials & Training

Step-by-Step Single-Dose Workflow

1) Weigh your coffee beans on a scale (typically 18g for a double). 2) Load beans into the 45g hopper. 3) Close the hopper shutter. 4) Press the activation switch to start grinding. 5) Open the shutter once grinding begins—beans will feed through. 6) Once all beans have passed into the burr chamber (visible through the clear lid), close the shutter again. 7) After grinding stops, squeeze the bellows 2–3 times to push remaining grounds through to the dosing cup or portafilter.

Using the Dosing Cup

The included 58mm stainless steel dosing cup catches grounds below the chute. After grinding and bellows purging, place your portafilter on top of the dosing cup and flip both together to transfer grounds into the portafilter basket. Alternatively, grind directly into a portafilter on the fork.

Switching Between Coffees

Because the Zero retains under 0.2g of coffee in the burr path, it's ideal for switching between different beans without significant carryover. A single dose of the new coffee purges the chamber completely with minimal waste.

Achieving Low Retention

The key to zero-retention performance is the bellows squeeze after grinding. Squeezing 2–3 times compresses air in the hopper and chamber, pushing stragglers through the chute. The vented shutter design and clear lid help you visually confirm all beans have passed.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

Because of the single-dose workflow, the Zero requires minimal daily cleanup—there are no stale grounds accumulating in a full hopper. After each session, brush the dosing cup and fork area lightly.

Bellows and Hopper

Rinse the bellows hopper and dosing cup periodically with warm water and dry completely before reinstalling. Never reinstall a damp hopper—moisture causes grounds to clump and can damage the burrs.

Burr Cleaning

With low retention single dosing, the Zero stays cleaner than hopper-fed grinders. Run Grindz or Puly Grind monthly to clear any oils. The bottom burr adjust system preserves settings through cleaning disassembly.

Troubleshooting

Grounds Not Exiting Fully After Bellows Squeeze

Ensure the vented shutter is closed before squeezing the bellows—an open shutter releases air pressure before it can push grounds through. Squeeze firmly 3–4 times and listen for air expelling through the chute.

Popcorning (Beans Jumping Out of Hopper)

Popcorning occurs when beans jump out of the hopper before entering the burrs. Close the hopper shutter when loading and open it after the grinder is running to minimize this effect. The Zero's small 45g hopper capacity reduces popcorning risk compared to larger single-dose hoppers.
