Eureka Oro Mignon Single Dose Pro Espresso Grinder

Eureka Oro Mignon Single Dose Pro Espresso Grinder

Eureka’s Oro Mignon Single Dose Pro brings a workflow-focused update to the original Single Dose design. Optimized for single dosing, the Single Dose Pro comes packed with features to optimize for faster, low-retention grinding. 65mm espresso-focused burrs, a revised blind upper burr and carrier, and a canted case promise a shorter grind path and minimal grind retention. Further refinements include a 'King Size' grind adjustment knob with rotation indicator for easier grind refinement, A 45-gram single dose hopper with bellows, and a larger hand-brew dosing cup with included spout. Combined, these features create a single dose grinder that excels at grinding for espresso on demand.

Setup & First Use

Single-Dose Architecture

The Oro Mignon Single Dose Pro is purpose-built for low-retention single-dose grinding. Key design features: a 15-degree inclined grinder body (shorter grind path = less retention), a blind upper burr design with revised carrier (reduces grounds trapping), and the Blow Up bellows system for near-zero retention. Typical retention is under 0.2g.

65mm Diamond Inside Burrs

The SD Pro uses Eureka's 65mm Diamond Inside flat burrs at 1650 RPM—the same burrset as the Oro XL, producing fluffy, uniform grounds at approximately 1.98g/second at espresso settings and 3.84g/second at filter settings.

King Size Adjustment Knob

The 'King Size' oversized grind adjustment knob features a rotation indicator for easier tracking of your current grind position. This is especially useful for single-dose workflows where you may switch between espresso and filter settings—the indicator marks help you return to a previously used setting quickly.

Tutorials & Training

Single-Dose Workflow

1) Weigh your beans (typically 18g for espresso). 2) Load into the 45g bellows hopper. 3) Close the shutter. 4) Activate the grinder and open the shutter. 5) After beans are through, close shutter and squeeze bellows 2–3 times. 6) Grounds land in the dosing cup or portafilter.

Using the Dosing Cup Spout

The included spout attachment fits the standard 58mm dosing cup to direct grounds precisely into your portafilter basket. Attach the spout for cleaner dosing, especially useful with the fluffy ACE-system grounds from the 65mm Diamond Inside burrs.

Switching Between Espresso and Filter

The King Size knob's rotation indicator and wide range makes switching between brew methods easier than on standard Mignon grinders. Mark your espresso and filter positions on or near the knob as a reference. The blind upper burr carrier minimizes purge waste when switching.

15-Degree Tilt Advantage

The canted body creates a natural downward slope in the grind path—gravity assists grounds toward the exit, shortening the path and reducing retention compared to vertical-body grinders.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

The single-dose workflow minimizes grounds accumulation. Squeeze the bellows after each dose, brush the dosing cup and chute lightly. The doising cup spout and cup can be rinsed and dried between sessions.

Burr Cleaning

Monthly: Run grinder cleaning tablets to clear oils from the 65mm Diamond Inside burrs. The bottom burr adjust preserves your grind setting through disassembly cleaning.

Troubleshooting

More Than 0.2g Retention

The Blow Up bellows should achieve under 0.2g retention when used correctly. If retention is higher, ensure you're squeezing the bellows firmly 3–4 times with the shutter closed. Built-up oils on the burr walls can also increase static and retention—run cleaning tablets monthly.

Grounds Not Landing in Dosing Cup

Attach the included spout to the dosing cup to direct the grounds stream accurately. The 15-degree incline creates a directional exit—orient the dosing cup to align with the chute.
